Garcias has become my favorite restaurant in the Anchorage area. I can always count on great tasting food, friendly staff, and a fun atmosphere. Ive lived in Alaska for 20+ years, work in Anchorage, but consistently choose Garcias as my go to place.
The food was fast but not very good. I’ve been to many Mexican restaurants. This place is not that great and the prices are too high for the poor quality in food. I got the fajitas with rice and beans. The beans had an irony taste to them and h didn’t even try the rice. The fajitas weren’t terrible but they didn’t have much flavor to them. When the waitress brought them over she took a lemon and squeezed it all over the meat right in front of us with her bare hands. I’ve worked in the food industries for many years and you just don’t do that. First of all she didn’t ask if I wanted it on there and then doing it herself with her bare hands which I am pretty sure were not clean. You just don’t do that. The waitress was an extremely sweet lady but she just wasn’t the cleanest looking. She didn’t smell the cleanest. The service was decent but the food was not the best. It seemed more like a bar atmosphere then an actual restaurant.
