Great food. Fabulous ambience and extraordinary customer service!!! Put this on your travel itinerary just like I did. The place is really good and giving some real competition to big city pubs out there. They also have great social media team as they responded well and in few minutes after I posted on my Instagram and Facebook. We ordered seafood pasta which was so yum and some cod dish with Jasmin rice. It was fresh fish and they have specials on days. Ask whats special dishes they have that day as fishermen grabs different stuff everyday. Bummer was this cod fish was darn cold idk why!! I have no complaints as it was so delicious OMG. We mentioned that its kind of cold and they right away took it off our bill. I mean we were amazed somewhat. I loved the place and very upscale environment.
The food here is good, that is a given. Whether it is the perennial Jambalaya Fetuccine to the more seasonal fish that you may get in the summer, you will be pleased. I go for the Ales more so as their brew-master has done well on their individual varieties and they pair well with the food. I do not give a higher rating as it is almost impossible to get in during the summer as it becomes a tourist destination. Rightly so I guess but it is limiting. They have an adjoining restaurant that also does well called Orso. You will not be disappointed in their food menu either. Bother places are helpful in addressing allergies and in providing some good alternatives to try.
One of our all time favorite date night spots in Anchorage! The Raspberry Wheat beer is delicious! Not overly sweet at all. My favorite item on the menu is the seared tuna, by far! Sunday brunch with the Bloody Mary bar will NOT disappoint either!
Halibut fish and chips were excellent. A crunchy batter vs a wet beer type of batter so that made them a little different. Lots of beer in tap. Really nice atmosphere and relaxing after being in the bush for over a week.
If you enjoy a very, very loud atmosphere and drinking good beer while eating average food that is overpriced, then Glacier Brewhouse is your kind of place. The beer is excellent and I believe the newer brew houses we’re seeing in town are a direct result of GB having quality brewmeisters. Unfortunately, their success is what ruined the place for us. The dining area design is so poor the noise reverberates and makes the place sound like you’re in the middle of a grade school playground full of children. You have to shout a bit to be heard by people at your own table. And while the food has a bit of imagination, the execution isn’t there and you’re served what could have been spectacular but somehow was never taken that final step beyond average. To make things worse, the prices are so high the average food quality leaves you feeling ripped off. But its the noise that drove us away. The last thing we want when we go out toeat is to be forced to listen tothe conversations of all the tables around us because everyone has to shout to be heard above the din.
Had Bleu salad, salmon dip appetizer and seafood chowder. All were very good. The waitress was on the ball at the beginning and in the middle. At the end she got busier and it took a bit longer than expected for the bill to get to us. Still very happy with the service.
BREWHOUSE WAS A MADHOUSEThis restaurant was one of the busiest I have ever been in. They were about 20 minutes late on our reservation. Once seated, we were served complimentary fried calamari and fried cod by our tour host. My wife ordered the salmon dip and I ordered the warm pretzel and cheese dip which we shared. Both were very good. We each ordered the baby back ribs. I know it seems a little unusual to come to Alaska for ribs but we both felt like something different and we were not disappointed. The ribs were lean and quite meaty with a nice bbq sauce. Of course dinner came with a basket of sourdough bread. While dessert was included we were so full we could not do it.
