Went there for Mothers Day with my family and in-laws. Beat the rush and was told it would b a short wait. After 35 minutes of waiting and watching other groups being sat whom arrived after us we inquired about the wait. We were then told it would be a another 45 min wait to get seated. The food is decent here but not that good to be given this line. The only thing they did today was lose customers permanently. Good job.
I can’t imagine a worse place to recommend for breakfast. The last time was so bad we vowed to never go again unless something major changes about the place. Why? The cleanliness (or lack thereof) and the poor food quality. At first glance the place looks clean but when you look close you see lots of places that haven’t been cleaned in years, or ever. Dust and grime you could almost chip off in chunks. As far as the food, you can cook much, much better at home. Their biscuits, which they tout, are always hard as rocks and taste like they were made the day before. The bacon was pre-cooked and reheated and even the chicken fried steak tasted like it had been made hours before and was covered with school paste sausage gravy that didn’t have a speck of sausage.
Best breakfast place in town. The atmoshere and service are awesome. Recommend the omelettes which are gigantic. Personally like the snow crab omelette. The eggs Benedict with snow crab with a side of reindeer sausage and grits is also good for the tourist.
It a traditional breakfast spot. I have to go at least once every trip up. Got to experience the place at least once. I go for the reindeer sausage & eggs.
The worst breakfast in ak. You have to be kidding if you think this is real food. Probably the worst breakfast I have had in the last 27 years 14 days 6 hours and 17 seconds. (GROSS)

I dont understand the rating. I think its the best breakfast food on the face of the earth. Ive never had anything other than breakfast so I cant give a review for anything else. Took many vistors over the years to Gweenies and they always like it the best. You have to get the home fries! Plus a famous pink bumper sticker.
