We are from Maui, Hi and was driving around looking for a place to eat. We stumbled across this place and we knew they would serve rice. I work for a Korean owner for 14 years so I know what the dishes were. The food was so good that we asked for two more servings of rice and took the rest of the food with us. I recommend this place if ever your craving for good Korean food.
What a find!. My husband and I just ate at Home Town tonight and had one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a while. After watching us waffle over the menu for a while, our server suggested the pork neck bone soup. It was fantastic…spicy and served hot pot style at the table. The sides were such a great compliment, and our service was spectacular. It is located in a strip mall, and the dining area is small, but that is the case with many of the restaurants in Anchorage. If you like Korean food, then Home Town is definitely a must try.
Best Korean food in anchorage!!!! I’ve eatin at VIP and Tofu House but Home Town beats them hands down!! This is my new favorite Korean resturaunt now and the Kimchee is the best I have had in a long time
Best Authentic Korean Food. I love their food here. It reminds me of what my mom makes me and the food is simply comforting and tasty. Good service and friendly people. I’ve been to K town in LA, NYC but Home Town is just as good as any of those restaurants.My favorite is Samgyupsal duruchgi!

Best Korean Food. My husband and I used to live in Anchorage and Hometown Korean restaurant became our favorite restaurant. Not only did we live close to it, but the food is amazing. We would go there at least once a week and the owner always knew what we wanted and how we liked our dishes cooked. The owner and his wife are so sweet and it feels like you are walking into a family members home for dinner. The ohjinga bokkum (spicy squid) and yook gae jong (spicy beef and green onion soup) were our regular orders and by far the best we have ever had. Hometown always hit the spot when I would crave my mother’s Korean cooking. The forbidden rice and sweet tea for dessert make this restaurant authentic and different than any of the other Korean restaurants in Anchorage. I would fly up to Anchorage for a day to eat there again! I would recommend anyone who loves good Korean food to go here.
