Great breakfast. fresh food. Little hole in the wall diner that consistently serves up good food. They deal with special requests very well and the food comes fast. Coffee needs improvement in todays world, as industrial dennys quality mass brewed coffee just doesn’t measure up to the good food.
For a Little Hawaii in Anchorage. We have been going to Jackie’s for years. They have their Portugese sausage flown in fresh from Hawaii. The rice, sausage and egg breakfast feels like a little bit of Hawaii in Spenard. The Hawaiian french toast is fabulous. It is a friendly, Alaskan place and proudly a greasy spoon. If you want an upscale, trendy place, this is not for you. If you want a true bit of Spenard and old Alaska with a great breakfast and service, give Jackie’s a try.
Really surprised this place has so many great reviews. service was slow and when the waitress poured water all over our table she apologized and walked away. never brought us any thing to clean it up. we used our napkins to get most of it and never got more napkins. I am sure this place used to be great but I don’t think I’ll be back. Kriners is nearby and is a way better diner.
This place is exactly what you hope to expect! Greasy spoon at its finest. Food is delicious, and portions are filling. However, subaru drivers and progressives may want to stick with their overpriced, overrated breakfasts at snowcity or middleway.
Great Food!. I have eaten at Jackie’s place a lot and I have never had a bad meal. I like the food and like the way I have been treated there. Breakfast is GREAT!
Awful!!. Don’t be fooled by the good reviews, this place is beyond bad. I actually thought it was bad the first time I went but then gave it a second try thinking maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. I will never be back. Today my husband ordered the New York steak & eggs – medium and I ordered the pork chops & eggs. Both horrible, the steak came well done and the pork chops were as tough as shoe leather. Even the bacon my son ordered tasted like old grease. I really wanted to love this place because they have so many great protein options on the menu, unfortunately that’s where the greatness ends. As an added bonus, we have both felt ill with horrible indigestion ever since. Wish I could have a do-over and not have gone here today.
Breakfast is great, the staff friendly and a great vibe.
