I need to stop giving Alaska Mexican food a chance, there are honestly no amazing Mexican resturants here. The Jalepenos atmosphere is good, but that was pretty much the only thing. The food has NO flavor, their beef they use in enchiladas you can definitely tell is just ground need with generic grocery store taco seasoning. Food is way overpriced. Very disappointed, will not be coming back.

Hands down best chilireano I’ve ever had traveld all over the USA nothing compares that I’ve found love this place worth the wait great envrrionment

Decent looking place with somewhat decent food. Food was served cold. We had to ask four times for some more spicy salsa. I suppose they are used to people who enjoy mild salsa. No salsa picante, cold rice and beans = no bueno.

The decor and friendliness of staff was nice, but the food was a little pricey. It was the same quality of Taco King in Anchorage for about $15 more + the drive to Eagle River (I live in Anchorage). But it wasn’t a dissapointment. It was just alright. Kind of bland and nothing was spicy at all. But I’ve had worse.

Hard to Beat. We were greeted at the door by a super friendly and enthusiastic staff member for a Saturday late lunch and it got better from there. The decor is bright, cheerful, and friendly, although I tend not to like the number of flat screen televisons on every wall of the bar area they were not too intrusive. The server took our orders and we had our food very quickly-a good assorment at our table -from GIANT burrito, HUGE chimichanga, large order of chili relleno(appeared to be hand made) and nicely made tamale and enchilada. Everything was fresh, hot and very tasty-the complementary salsa and chips were good too, but I would like the hot salsa to be a lot hotter-this is just mild. This was our second visit here and it easily makes it to the top of our picks for good Mexican style food. Highly recommended. Worth the drive from Anchorage anytime.

This was the first Mexican restaurant we at at when we arrived in Alaska. Top notch service. We are at several others but none compared to jalapeos. Great food and we always feel like we are part of the family there. Sadly we just had our last meal there. As Always it amazing we will miss the staff and food. We highly recommend eating here. You will come back!
