The spuds are duds, but the local dive feeling is nostalgic. The thing is — Judy’s is that neighborhood dive from the past. And despite the fact that the hash-browns are purchased at the local warehouse store in those giant cartons, the loyal and dedicated following don’t seem to mind. Put enough salt, pepper, hot sauce and ketchup on them and they go down easy. And like someone else said, the eggs are just fine anyway. Judy’s is small and especially on weekends, it doesn’t take long to fill up. It could just be that if they started making really good hash-browns or homefries from scratch, you’d never get a table. Yeah, that has to be it. Whatever the case.. if you don’t mind prefab spuds, it’s a quaint, little place with that old-time nostalgic neighborhood dive feel. Kind of a dying breed.
Ate at Judy’s on a few occasions and each time the food and service was great. Really love the small time feel to the place. Reminds me of a few places in Oklahoma..
It was pretty good. I found the service to be very attentive and quick. The omelet I ordered was quite good. The hash browns were a little dry but other than that it’s a good hole in the wall place.
I ate here for the first time today. The Country Benedict was very good, especially the gravy. We had to wait quite a while in the crowded entryway (which is expected on a Saturday at 10am), but the food and service was fast enough to make up for it. My coffee cup was never empty and all the waitstaff was doing well keeping up with the crowd. My boyfriend thought the chicken fried steak itself was a little sub-par, but agreed that the gravy may be the best we’ve found so far in town.
I came here for a daddy daughter date with my youngest daughter and we enjoyed the food and service. My family has been coming here for years and we will continue to do so.
NTK. I love going here for b/f. It’s so much like places USED to be. Not fancy, but good home-cooked b/f. I happen to love the hash browns – they’ve never been greasy and taste fine to me! Love the waitresses, too!
Worst breakfast in town now. I can’t believe how bad Judy’s is now. 🙁 When did they switch to cardboard tasting prefab hash-browns? The place was always a site for sore eyes, but now the food matches the interior.. nasty! Thankfully there are now two new breakfast diner’s in the same neck of the woods, so my days of stopping by Judy’s are over.
