Kudos to whoever wrote the menu. It gets old reading about biscuits and gravy he, corn beef hash and eggs, bacon and eggs. I truly appreciate when somebody take some time to come up with some new dishes such as the Los Benny Ortega Benedict, one of my favorites. Wait staff is well-versed on the menu, efficient, friendly with a hint of no BS. I consider myself a Ruben snob, as it is a very well-defined sandwich. It is an item that I order to find out how good a restaurant is. To date, Kay’s has the best Reuben that I have had in all my travels.Keep up the good work!
Kay’s attempts to be the home-town family diner, complete with regular visitors and informal, friendly staff; and they pull that off quite well.My waitress was very friendly and seemed to enjoy her job, however, that’s pretty much where the positive stops.Everything from the booths to the cups looked beat-up and run-down. The place had an overarching feeling of dirty, and not the Its-supposed-to-be-this-way kind of dirty like you find at an interstate Waffle House. It felt like the owner either can’t afford, or doesn’t care to maintain the facility. The food was sloppily made and overpriced. My wife ordered an omelet, and what she got was a pile of broken eggs with uncooked vegetables tossed in and a splatter of cold shredded cheddar on top.The entire experience left me with a literal and figurative bad taste in my mouth.I prefer to eat at local joints instead of corporate locations, but next time, I’ll go to IHOP.
Amazing!!!. I have to say this place has great food and a fun and lively wait staff!!! It is a family friendly environment and was very accommodating to my large family that came in without a reservation on a busy Sunday. The waitress was very friendly, funny, and organized. The food came out fast and hot! One dish had a mistake but the waitress promptly fixed the problem and in a timely manner. Our drinks were never empty and the waitress did all of this not only with my family’s party of 20 but with other tables as well. I would definitely go back and recommend Kay’s to family and friends!!!
Greatness. This is a great place to eat. I have become a regular since I enjoy the atmosphere and the waitress. The other posts about a rude waitress is not all that true, once you get to know her she is a great person she’s just a little ruff around the edges. If you give this place a try I’m sure you will enjoy it as much as I do. Great new owners and great food
BAD customer service ok food. Our server appeared to be nice when we first got there but then when she took our order she became rude! Every time one of us would tell her thank you she wouldn’t say anything. She asked us how our food was and then turned the other way. Plain rude. The food was nothing special, frozen burger patties, frozen chicken breasts, everything is pretty much commercialized.
Food was very tasty, nice atmosphere. Waitress wasn’t very friendly, but the food made up for it.
I can’t say that I will ever come back here. We were there today and it was not busy as almost all the other diners had their food. We waited for about 10 minutes after being seated and no one ever took our order. The waitresses spent time cleaning the tables which is good but at least one of them could have taken our order. One waitress actually stopped at our table as she was refilling coffee for people and never asked if we wanted coffee or if she could help us. I figure if their service is this bad then the food probably isn’t much better. When I called to speak with a manager this person was supposedly in the kitchen cooking and couldn’t come to the phone. What type of manager is cooking in the back when that person should be up front managing the restaurant. It’s clear they wasted my time today, so I will make sure to tell people not to waste their time going there.
