Had French onion soup – awful. Tomato base was added and it was sweet vs. savory. Cheddar was topped on soup. Vs white cheese. Chef needs to reevaluate this recipe. Had caprice salad – it was ok. Had halibut cheeks with risotto. Too bland for my liking. Staff did a good job following up. Atmosphere was good until radio in background was not working. Took way too long to fix the problem. Easy solution would have been to turn it off
Kinleys has become one of our favorite places for lunch or dinner. The service is always excellent and the food is always creative and delicious. It’s a wee bit pricey, but given the quality of the meal it’s well worth the price. Our standard starter is always the lobster ravioli. We share this dish every single time we go, be it lunch or dinner. Tender ravioli with a perfect filling and a very, very, very rich and yummy sauce. I always make sure they bring the bread with the ravioli so we can sop up every last drop of the sauce. As far as entrees, we’ve tried pretty much everything and we’ve never had a bad meal (knock on wood). We even tried the prix fixe menu & wine flight last New Years and nothing disappointed. If you’re looking for someplace special to take that special someone, try Kinley’s.
