Went to Kobe once with a work group and without exception everyone stated they would never be back. The place is run down and doesn’t look clean, the service was spotty and a bit rude and the lunch buffet was scary. No one felt safe eating anything sitting in the buffet table so we only grabbed what was brought out fresh. And even then we wondered if it came out of the cooler from yesterday’s lunch buffet.Most of us had one small plate and couldn’t bring ourselves to get more. It looks like Kobe used to be quite the place but it is showing its years both in appearance and quality.

I’ve always liked it BUT…. I recently had a horrible experience at Kobe. I’ve always been very fond of the restaurant and often recommended it to friends, but my Valentine’s Day experience made me have a bad taste in my mouth about the place. My fiance had made reservations for us at 7pm on Valentines Day, two weeks in advance. When we arrived on time, we were approached outside by a couple that told us that they hadn’t even seated their 6pm reservations yet. We went in to check anyways. We stood there for a good few minutes without being approached by any of the staff. We ended having to flag down a waitress who then told us to sit in the waiting area with the other 20+ guests that were also waiting. She never asked for our name for the reservation, she didn’t tell us how long we would be waiting, and she was the only one who ever spoke with us. After waiting for a short time we decided to leave and try our luck somewhere else, as we didn’t seem to be getting a table any time soon. The times I have been there before the food was always great, but I wouldn’t recommend trying to make a reservation and expecting to get in on time, especially on a busy night.
