Such a cute little building with yummy cake donuts, cordials, teas and knick knacks. A to do for anyone visiting the area or a nice stop a weekend stroll downtown.
Kobuk is two stores in one. The front is a knick knack store similar to Sample House. Your nose will be flooded with scents on the way to the back room where the tiny coffee and tea room exists. There are five or six lovely bistro tables scattered about the old wood floor. It’s nice. Two baristas are there to quickly make your drink. This is a great place to come relax, read a book or do a crossword puzzle.
Cozy and welcoming. This is my favorite spot in Anchorage (excluding the outdoors). I can browse forever through the unique gifts and old fashioned candies, trinkets, jewelry etc. thinks like Felix the Cat clocks, to expensive bone china and a little handmade native art. However, I really only come here for two things Doughnuts and Samnovar tea. Although I do drink some of their MANY other loose teas and their AMAZING coffee. Mike is an amazing chef.. pastries, soups sandwiches, cookies.. lots of goodies. All of the staff is friendly and welcoming. The back cafe is charming and relaxing. Everything is well priced. Quaint and old fashioned. It’s the perfect place to meet a friend, bring a visitor or to hang out on your own with a fresh cup of coffee and a fresh hot old fashioned cake doughnut.
