Large Sushi Boat. Sushi boat!
Downtown is not worth it. The sushi was not bad here, but I paid literally double the cost of a nice roll and sashimi, just because it is downtown (roll was half the size of other places) Do yourself a favor and head to sushi sushi, Pete’s, dish, or anyone of another 5 places for better deals. And I am not cheap, but all you are paying for is downtown. I think this place is just taking advantage of tourists…
Get the steak!!. The only thing I order when i go here is the Kumagoro Steak. It comes out sizzling on a bed of vegetables with a side of rice. The miso soup is delicious and the salad is good, wish they would go back to choice of derssing. Tried the Dragon Roll once, it was good, but really cannot compare to anything. Not a big sushi fan. the Tempura is good, the Bento box, i would order if I didnt get the steak
By far the best japanese food I have ever had! Robby C. from myrtle beach South Carolina
Not a place to visit often. The food in this restaurant is decent, i think what ruins it for me is how rude the wait staff is. They seem to me a tad over priced for proportion you get. It is not a place that I would visit often unless i am craving something specific. Doesn’t seem to be the cleanest place also.
The stuff of dreams…. I worked here in the mid 90s before beginning my teaching career. I now live in California and have yet to find another Japanese restaurant that comes close in deliciousness. I see some posts that say this restaurant was closed and reopened. I pray there aren’t new owners. The original manager made the gyoza from scratch using her own recipe-sooo good. The owner was back and forth to his other restaurants in Hawaii, but very particular about food quality. The yakitori and yakisoba were also favorites and of course all their teriaki dishes. Oh, and the green ice cream with washabi bean…awesome. I don’t care for sushi, but when I worked there, the sushi bar was considered fantastic by everyone who came in for it. My then boyfriend, now husband, also loved it and the seafood soups which I brought home regularly. He stayed there for a few months after I moved back to the lower 48 and I used to beg him to mail me food. I hate to see the negative comments about the service because when I worked there the all of staff was extremely conscientious of the guests. Many of the cooks and servers had been there for 10 years+. I wonder who’s working there now?? It was also reasonably priced to my recollection, so that’s a bummer to hear also. We did not cater to tourists, at all. Had tons of regulars, so it sounds like a lot has changed. 🙁
