Mustard is meant to be a condiment, not a smothering hug. Coffee, good, pastries, YUMMO stay away if you are not to partake in the sugary goodness! The soups here are amazing, sometimes a bit salty, but to give you an idea, I never salt ANYTHING.Today I had the split pea and ham soup and ham & cheese.Soup was amazing (a bit salty for me) the sandwich would have been amazing had the mustard not concluded every bit with a drowning hug of mustard goodness. I LOVE mustard but here you really have to ask for them to go light on the condiments, I think sometimes the lunch rush causes a bit more of a boot in the butt and the scooping becomes overzealous. Yes that is a big glob in the top right portion of the sandwich. Overall, deelish! A bit expensive.

Crowded, but good. I had a spicy chicken wrap, and I thought it was good. It did take a while, and the seating at peak times is, well, communal at best, but the wrap was good. The problem is, there are plenty of places that will make a great wrap, let you sit at a table to yourself, and bring the food to you. All in all, it’s okay if you’re out and about, but nothing much more than a standard sandwich shop. I didn’t try any of the baked goods.

Inside Sagaya Markets. Try the cinnamon rolls with cream cheese; they’re the best I’ve ever had, anywhere in the world.

Power outage life savers. New Years Day, hungover as all hell, and their power was out so they weren’t making food. Just when all hope was seemingly lost- they told me (they being the awesome nameless volunteer workers- they didn’t get paid that day..it was all for charity) I could help myself to coffee. The young lady behind the counter overheard me lamenting about how much I love their soup (blue cheese tomato) and she just gave me a HUGE CONTAINER and told me she knew I would come back and order more since I loved it so much. Any place with such kind and happy employees gets my business again and again

Flavorless sushi, disgusting Chinese. I’m not really sure if L’Aroma Bakery & Deli makes the sushi and Chinese food at New Sagaya, so apologies if they don’t. If they do, then here’s my input:Save your money on the awful sushi. Even Safeway/Carrs has better sushi than here. Seriously. I’m not a huge grocery-store sushi fan, but it can be good. This was just completely awful.I figured the Chinese food might be good, because it was recommended by a ton of people. I got the combo with what I am assuming was supposed to be chow mein and mongolian beef. The chow mein was devoid of vegetables and tasted like an oil slick. The mongolian beef should have been called mongolian beef jerky because it was so tough and salty. The egg roll was similarly like a soggy oil slick. It’s a shame, because it smelled so good. I literally had a couple bites and threw it out, which is EXTREMELY rare for me.

Mouth Watering!. This place is beyond delicious! They use REAL meat in the sandwiches, they use REAL cheese, and everything tastes wonderful! Their desserts are AMAZING! Their bread, desserts, sandwiches, pizza, soup, EVERYTHING is absolutely delicious. They even have togo sandwiches for people who are really in a rush. Definitely a great place to stop by and grab lunch with friends or just when you are on the go. It’s truly wonderful.
