I am VERY particular about Mexican cuisine, but this place is alright. Our server was very friendly and accommodating, our food was prepared well and quickly I might add, and I like the high windows with hanging plants. It makes for an all around enjoyable experience and I’ll definitely be back.

Great spot for a fast lunch. Being from Texas I can argue the status of Mexican Food in Alaska. I have not found a place I truly think is great in Alaska yet. That being said, La Mex has my compliments for serving good food (hot and fast) during their lunch time. The Salsa (hot) has a good flavor but I would not call it hot. The Poco Pollio Fundito is great for lunch. The rice and beans taste good and are filling. The Queso (without spinach) is probably the best I have had in Alaska. Not sure why all queso in Alaska has to have spinach in it but at least La Mex gives you the option to leave it out. The food it good…not great. Where La Mex wins is allowing it’s customers a sit down meal at lunch without taking up a complete hour. From order to delivery at the table never takes more than 10 minutes.
Terrible! Why is this place packed? The only good thing was the soda! By far the worst Mexican resteraunt I have ever eaten at! Do not eat there you will be super disappointed. The salsa had oil sitting on top Of it and the chips were cold and stale! Stay away!
I ive went to la mex all my life and recently stopping going because they charge for chips and salsa which is BS dont get me wrong i love there food and salsa but refuse to pay for chips and salsa
Over priced and small portions. They were good but not for the price. Salsa tastes like store bought
