Temporarily closed due to kitchen fire. I’ve never eaten here, but their burgers are consistantly voted amongst the top in Anchorage. They suffered a kitchen fire on the 30th of December, 2014. Haven’t heard when they’ll open back up, but I wish them a speedy re-opening.

Excellent burgers!!!-home made fries and rings (pretty sure not from frozen bag of crap). Home made fresh buns- cold, cold beer (recommend the Full Sail). Most excellent dark, beer-sign-mirror walled-dive-bar atmosphere. No old-grease taste to fries/rings. Cold-cold pitchers. Great place to watch football. U want anything more then keep on drivin.

I think we need to try it again. We heard so much about the Long Branch Saloon that we just had to try it. Unfortunately neither of us was too impressed with the food but maybe they just had a bad day??FOODWe both ordered burgers since that seemed to be the thing to get. The burgers came out only luke warm, at best, which was evidenced by the lack of cheese melt. Not to be confused with under cooked, just cold from sitting for a while maybe. In fact the overall make up of the burger was just off and not conducive to cheese meltage. The veggies were on top of the burger and the cheese was on top of veggies so essentially there was zero cheese melt going on. I guess there may be some that like their burgers this way but personally I like melted cheese on my burger. To each their own, I suppose. The other disappointment we experienced was with the fries. I was delighted to see they served what appeared to be real fresh cut potato fries but was soon disappointed to see the fries appeared to be soaked in oil and way over cookerd. These fries literally stuck with us all day and well into the night (thank goodness for Pepcid!)ATMOSPHERE & PRICEThe atmosphere was definitely to my liking. A couple of big screen TVs with sports playing. They also had a couple of pool tables which is pretty cool.We were a bit disappointed by the prices. Typically with other local joints we’ve come across the prices are a little more amiable. Our Burgers were over $10 each and the draft prices were nothing to write home about but not completely outrageous although they at least did offer a few viable draft choices for the non-Bud/Coors/Miller drinkers like us. In fact I was delighted to see they had Sockeye Red IPA on tap. This is one of favorite tap beers which I’ve found hard to find, especially considering it’s an Alaskan brewed beer.STAFFThe staff was super friendly and very attentive. No complaints here.OVERALLWe will try Long Branch again for sure but we were definitely disappointed with our first try. The beer was good, the staff was great and there was sports on TV so we’ll give it a week or two and try again…
