Authentic Mexican. Real MOLE!
Wonderful. The salsa is amazing as well as their chips. Anyone that is a cheese lover should try their Queso Fundido. Everything else my husband and I have had was wonderful as well! Definitely worth trying out.
Deep Mexico local cuisine. This is the type of food you would get if you traveled beyond the tourist stops. It looks very much like some of the places I’ve visited in deep Mexico, down by Tuxpam. The guacamole is freshly made and the avacados are at perfect ripeness.. The mole sauce was great. Not overly sweet. Order anything mole and they’ll ask if you’ve had it before, and if not, they will bring you a sample to decide. I had the beef enchiladas (finely shredded beef) covered in mole instead of traditional enchilada sauce. The sample was a cheese enchilada. They also offer a chicken. Photos just do NOT do the dish justice. It’s a casual dining experience with many items available al carte or as part of a meal. They do take orders and bring drink refills(upon request), my empty glass sat at the edge of the table and no one inquired if I would like a refill, But it was brought promptly when I asked. They drop off the check, but you pay the bill at the cashier’s desk on the way out, which is nice. The seating is functional,a potted avocado sat on my table next to the window. The dining area clean, and lots of memorabilia from Mexico fills the place with ambiance. I would recommend for those who love authentic cuisine or those with an adventurous palate. If you go there expecting Taco Bell, you’re going to be disappointed. I’ll go back and try another dish. Maybe the taco dish, which offers 5 very different kinds of tacos.
Big Miracle Mexican Food!. I’m so glad I checked this place out. The waitress was super helpful and showed me the places that were used in the movie when they filmed the restaurant scenes. I sat down by the bird/snake painting and enjoyed the chips and salsa. I ordered the lamb tacos and tried a sample of their mole sause on an enchilada. It was supurb! The main dish came out pretty quickly and it was very tasty. There was alot to eat and the service was excellent.
Service sucks. Food is typical texmex fare. Decor I don’t care about but cleanliness, I do, be perpared to stink of onions and mediocre mexican food for the rest of the night. Stale chips ruined great salsa. Overpriced. Rice and beans are not that expensive! At least at Don Jose’s or Las Margaritas you can have a real margarita and decent service. I won’t be back.
Better than your average Mexican Joint in Anchorage. We recently ate at Mexico in Alaska on a week night. We came a little before the dinner rush, we were seated immediately. Unfortunately, the chips, salsa and waters are already on the table and you could tell they had been there quite a while. However, the food wasn’t too bad. It would be greatly improved by corn tortillas instead of flour. Also, since we were early, the food came out in only about 10 minutes- which was fantastic, as I was in a hurry. The service wasn’t anything to call home about, but wasn’t terrible either. It wasn’t anything special, but it was a fair amount of food for a fair price. I wouldn’t mind returning.
