First of all, the coffee is some of the best I’ve ever had. Secondly, the food is awesome. I went for breakfast and ordered a quiche and a zucchini muffin. Both were excellent and made locally. The best part of this place isn’t the quick, personal service or even how good everything is, it’s also incredibly reasonably priced for Alaska and Anchorage. Highly recommend to any and all.

Ordering a shake will cause you and everyone behind you to wait 4 minutes as the shopkeep makes it on an antiquated machine. Two people working behind the counter? Only one will be helping serve the customers as the other stares idly. Tip, don’t hire a dedicated barista when you’re an ice cream shop.
Moose Al’s Mode has new owners since December 2010! They have seriously changed the place for the better! Lots of great choices in food and beverages, all for a very reasonable price! Plus they are open on Sundays now too!!
Havent tried the coffee yet, but I can say the customized salad they made me is awesome! And the iced chai is not bad either! I really want to speak highly of their customer service: this place is great!
Oh my goodness be still my heart… really… be still, I’m still kind of jittery from my last small cup. This stuff is the REAL DEAL the BEES KNEES! And for the price, why would you ever go anywhere else? The staff knows their coffee and tea; they make it fresh and fast as they can with great service especially those girly drinks that the previous reviewer mentioned. All I have to say about that is, Man up and try some Chai!, or at least spell it right. I’ve heard that there sandwiches and salads are something that should not be missed out on. The staff is super chill and friendly. There are a few tables and chairs inside where you can sit discuss why coat hangers are the choice weapon against poorly rendered eagles and vultures. I just wish it was closer to my workplace, but it does give me an excuse to take a longer lunch break and enjoy a great atmosphere with friends and co-workers
Why wouldn’t you go here?. Let me start with what this is not. This is not a pretentious coffee shop that sells a single cookie for 5 dollars and makes you feel guilty for not purchasing the abstract art on the wall. This is not a place where struggling writers huddle in a corner creating screenplays about rouge birds reeking havoc on a small coastal town. This IS a nice place to get an excellent cup of coffee or some girly drink like a skinny chi tea . The staff is always friendly and I have yet to see lower prices for the quality. Its within walking distance of just about anything downtown and well worth a visit.
