The first thing I look forward to is the smell! Tumeric, Curry Powder, and Jasmine assault the nose as you walk into their quaint restaurant on Tudor. I order take out from Namaste about once a month and have never been disappointed. The Tikka is moist and flavorful while the Naan wraps it all up in its garlicy goodness. A fantastic restaurant for a night away from the ordinary Anchorage fair!
I haven’t eaten at this location in over a year… ….and I have to say What happened to my Namaste? Forgotten orders, sauces that tasted like too much tomato paste. Veggie appetizers that tasted like mashed potato (no veggies) and no more flaky buttery wrap to encase it. Were you having an off day Namaste? I hope that’s all it was. I love you guys, but I won’t be back if the above mentioned is a trend.
Amazing!. I heard about this place and decided to go. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Ice chai. They were a busy, but the service was good. They offered many refills while I waited. When my meal got there is was phenomenal. I like spicy, and this was exactly what I wanted. It was a bit spendy, but I had left overs. All in all it is a lovely place, and I know I’ll be back.
Great Food. I really enjoyed my experiences at Namaste Shangri-La. I had never eaten this type of food and the first time I went, I relied solely on recommendations from the wait staff. I’ve eaten there three times now and have never had a bad meal. The food is always good, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I’ve been trying to stick to a vegan menu, and there were ample choices on the menu.
Great experience. This place is great; the food is delicious, their ‘tea’ drinks are different and definitely add to the palate. Nice easy going atmosphere – not too formal, not too informal. I’m Addicted to the cheese Naan, but haven’t had one thing so far I didn’t like (which is saying something because I’m not a fan of ‘curry’ or rice like dishes’. If you haven’t tried this place already I would recommend.
Highly recommended. New owners since Sept. 2013; delicious, nourishing food in a comfortable atmosphere and with warm service.
Best Indian food in Anchorage!! I don’t waste my appetite or money anywhere else. I loved everything I’ve had there, esp all the chicken dishes. Yum!
