Blech. I went there about a year ago and it was crap. I will never go back. The people were unfriendly and the food was horrible. I truly enjoy salt, but it might as well have been eating a salt lick. Also, you’re paying out the wazoo for what you’re getting. Now that I think about it, the only people I’ve ever heard say anything good about it are online. Additionally, I had been looking forward to trying their food enough that I signed up for their emailed newsletter before I actually ate and now they won’t stop sending me stupid emails even though I’ve unsubscribed.
Closest to Italy!. I recently found this place and today was not disappointed!! My husband and I have three wonderful trips to Italy and this is absolutely closest to the food I had in Italy I have found since our visits. It is a relatively simple place and small but the food is fresh, and masterfully prepared. I found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. I plan to make this one of our new favorite places in anchorage. I believe it is a family business and truly Italian so if you want American food like you can get anywhere, you won’t like it but if you have any taste you will be happy with what you find.
Excellent touch!. I really did not know this cafe existed until I swung into LaBodega last week. What a find! If you are truly a foodie and can tell the difference between handcrafted food and processed crap this is the place for you. The soup is fantastic and the paninis taste like Tuscany at your finger tips. I took the wife for the first time today and she is hooked. I would definetly recommend to anyone truly values authentic ethnic taste. Bona sera!
Interesting and tasty sandwiches. Nifty decor and welcoming environment. Great midtown stop!
Sadly. If you are not Italian you don’t fit in here. When it first opened I thought I would be great and it was…good. But every time I went in I almost felt an element of hostility. As if I was putting them out when I ordered. The food is good but the atmosphere is so unfriendly it contributes to indigestion. And what is with the stuffed this and that bread or pie. It’s not like a special it’s left overs hidden in bread. The price of their special dinners is outrageous for what they serve. Especially when you look at what you get at the French Oven Bakery on their special evenings.I won’t be back. It’s just too uncomfortable.
No where in town can you get food as good as this made with love each and every time.
Wonderful!!!. This is a hidden gem! Truly Italian fare, made fresh every day!. The coffee and deserts are to die for!The Italian foods and gift baskets make wonderful gifts for Christmas!Suzie Bradford
