Pangea offers an menu of of unique and delicious dishes from various continents, all found in one restaurant. Several well known Anchorage chefs have combined forces to establish this visually enjoyable setting. Have had two fantastic meals there and plan to return soon. We are long time Anchorage residents and would rank Pangea among the handful of top local restaurants.
We have been here 5-6 times in the last 6 months. The food is great. Pork Chop is a favorite though I really like the Drive In Burger. My wife has ordered the cod the last 3 times we have been. Drinks are good too!
Excellent food and moderate cocktails. If you know what you like to drink, ask the bartender to mix it for you. Great brunch of a different flair.
We had French salad with goat cheese croquette. It was a VERY SMALL piece of cheese. Looked ridiculous actually. The greens were fresh but come on! I had the Indian salad with roasted cauliflower. There were 2 count them 2 pieces of roasted cauliflower. The wings appetizer were hot and very good. The pork belly appetizer was interesting. The menu could use some help.
Wonderful and creative brunch menu! The chicken and waffles, the biscuits, eggs, and gravy, and the huevos rancheros are all divine. Can’t wait to return.
We’ve tried Pangea twice and will definitely go again. The only reason I won’t give it a 5.0 review is the service. The staff is very friendly but not very well managed. They seem to always be running around confused. I highly recommend asking for the check when you get your dessert or before you finish your dinner if you’re skipping dessert. It takes forever to get your check and both times we had to stand in front of the hostess and refuse to budge until we got our check. Even then it took a very long time. As I said, friendly but not well managed.As far as the food, definitely 5 stars!! Every dish is unique and creative. Flavors you wouldn’t think would work together meld into a delicious experience. The head chef definitely has fantastic imagination and exceptional knowledge of flavor profiles.There was only one dish that has been disappointing – the potatoes with raclette cheese. This is a traditional Swiss dish but both myself (German) and my friend (Swiss) were very disappointed. But literally every other dish we’ve ordered we’ll be ordering again.
