On Saturday, December 16th I ordered food for delivery from Piccolinos Restaurant. The cost for food was 28.90. When the delivery man arrived at my house I received a phone call from the delivery man asking me to come outside and get my food. I thought this was odd. I brought my food inside and signed the receipt, because the delivery man did not have a pen with him for me to sign outside, and took back outside to the delivery man. I added a $5 tip, as my house is only two miles away from the restaurant, and I thought a ~20% tip was more than adequate for the services rendered. This brought the total amount (on the total line located on the receipt to $33.90)On Wednesday, December 19th I looked at my bank statement to see that I was charged $43.90 for the meal. After I got off work I drove to the restaurant to speak with a manager. I explained what happened, showed her the copy of my receipt as well as what my bank account showed I had been charged and told her I would like my money back. I expressed that the only thing that makes sense is that the driver changed both the amount on the tip part of the receipt as well as the total amount. The manager looked through all the receipts from that night and was unable to find the copy of mine. I informed the manager that my food arrived right after 6 at night and showed her on my phone the time and number from the phone call I received from the delivery man. I expressed my concern that if this happened to me that it might also be happening to other people, and that these acts are considered theft. The only thing the manager offered me was a refund on my $10 that was taken from me and an apology because she doesnt know what happened.There was no clear concern from the management of this facility of the situation that had occurred.Im very unimpressed with the service and treatment of customers.
