Fresh great food!. I got a tip from a friend who likes to try new foods from different cultures. He said go to Safari Kitchen. I took my wife for lunch. I am not too judgmental about decor (I’ve eaten MRE’s in muddy ditches a few times) The food was great! Nothing tasted frozen or was overcooked. Very tasty! If the most important part of a meal for you is the ambiance, call in an order and get it to go, otherwise you will miss out on a fantastic meal.
Dirty and bad. Frozen vegetables and tasteless cuisine awaits you in this half grocery store half restaurant. My wife and I ordered the two most interesting sounding dishes on the menu and they both reminded me of overcooked pot roast. The ambiance is poor and the TV was blasting a terrible reality television show. I definitely ended up with something from an unwashed hand attacking my guts for the next few days. I love tasty cuisines from around the world so I was disappointed they could not deliver.
Try the goat. Never tried goat before, so I was excited to and I wasn’t let down. The food was delicious and the whole place smelled like spices.
It was very delicious to me cause it had so many new flavors bursting in it I was like wow this is so good
I agree…the food is awesome. I’ve gone three times and its consistently delicious and good prices/portion sizes. The ambience is terrible. Even if they would add music just to drown out the yelling in the kitchen it wouldBe a start…but maybe some Somalian music would even just add a nice touch. One menu for the entire place to share and if you want water it’s a buck a bottle. So for now I’ll keep eating the food…carry out!
Just out of curiosity, I decided to stop by this evening after reading reviews from a couple of local papers. I ordered the samosas (2 for $3) and a chicken shawarma ($5.99). The samosas had a flaky and crisp exterior while the filling was meaty and substantial. The shawarma was presented like a wrap and I was surprised by the size of the portion. It contained bits of chicken that were spiced moderately and assorted vegetables such as lettuce, onion, banana peppers, and jalapeo peppers. It also had a cool and creamy tahini sauce that really sealed the deal. Lastly, we were given a small container of a green-hued hot sauce that packed quite a punch. I will gladly return to try the other menu items, and as long as you don’t mind the temporary decor of the place, I would recommend giving these friendly people your business.
Great!. Great food! great price! bad ambiance! nice people! different taste! 🙂
