Samurai Sushi isa regular lunch meeting spot for a friend and I. They have one of the best appetizers in town and we order it every single time we go there – calamari tempura. This isn’t the dinky little rings, this is a plate of squid steaks perfectly breaded and fried. They are so tender you’re amazed you’re eating squid. The dipping sauce isa nice mix of spicy and sweet that is a perfect companion to the squid. The one sushi dish I tend to order more than others is their house roll. A California roll covered in cheese and topped withshrimp & scallops. It sounds bizarre but it works and is amazingly delicious.One of us usually orders it every visit. Their bento boxes are fresh and tasty as are all of their other dishes that we’ve tried. On top of yummy food their service is top notch. Always friendly, always helpful and they usually anticipate your needs before you do. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because I’m not a huge sushi fan. But if I do go out for sushi, this is one of the places at the top of the list.
Love this place. Copied from my yelp account from 2/12/2012This is becoming one of our favorite sushi spots because of its location & because of their consistency. Some of our favorites include their volcano roll, crunch roll, the sashimi platter (3 different sizes i believe so depending on how hungry you are or how many people you are sharing with) and the Alaska oysters. Yum! Today we tried the hawaiian roll and it was really good. We went there with a big party today for my nephew’s birthday and the service was great like always, they were good about refilling our drinks and everything was delicious.
Love this place. I have never had a bad experience here. The sushi is always phenomenal and the service is usually great.
Terrible service. Wasn’t greeted upon entrance or seated in a polite manner. The food is overpriced for this type of casualty. The waitress doesn’t elaborate well with the menu, especially if its your first time there. Any attempts to get the waitress attention is nerve wrecking. I would not tell anyone about that place because all I would say is, don’t waste your time.
Excellent!. Wife, me and the 2 year old had a great experience there.. The staff was super freindly and just couldnt have been nicer. Food was delicious we had a couple rolls and nigiri and the seaweed salad. All of it was delicious and the presentation was awesome too. Could not recomend this place more.
Best Sushi and Experience in Anchorage. My Wife and I had dinner at Samurai on 3-3-14 and it was without question the most wonderfully delicious and awesome Sushi dining experience either of us have ever had. Exemplary service, clean and modern, and the sushi and sashimi, and appetizers, and and and….fabulous! Awesome portions to value and conveniently located. Our now go to staple sushi place. Long Live Samurai Sushi!
