Slimy sandwiches. My wife and I were craving a sandwich last week and we decided to stop by Scottie’s since it was right outside the mall. The lady at the counter was nice, but she had trouble understanding our order. I ordered a 4 inch combo sandwich (roast beef, ham, and turkey), and my wife ordered a turkey burger. When we received our sandwiches, we were both pleasantly surprised to see thick cuts of meat on the sandwich, but the meat must have been old since it was SO SLIMY. The turkey especially. Neither of us could finish our meal and we left feeling worse than when we came in. Word of advice, if you want a good sandwich in Anchorage, go to Brown Bag instead.
Yuck. I got a chicken basket with under cooked chicken, and the fries were soggy. I don’t think I will be eating there again.
P.S.. Anyone who says they like this food probably works there.
I go occasionally for lunch and find food very good , with generous servings . Counter help is always pleasant and helpful. A good bargain if you are hungry.
Unable to know what you get. I have gone to Scotties for a long time but more recently they have trended toward not being as good to their customers as before. Even still, their menu is confusing due to what they offer and what you get. A simple hamburger includes what seems to be 4 different item choices but turns out to be possibly one. Not sure which one you will get either as it could be macaroni salad or a packet of potato chips. If you choose French Fries, it costs you another $1.95 but then again that is not made clear but even more importantly, do not have it included as a choice with a price. The hamburger was great. Their menu and the staff explaining the menu was not.
