Great Food. You’ve got to try the seafood tacos. There’s no other like it. My favorite!
We have been wishing for a New Mexican restaurant cause we’re getting bored with all the rest. We were pleasantly surprised with this place! Our waitress was very friendly. The salsa is amazing! We told them they should sell it. They make everything homemade including the chips. I ordered the shrimp chipotle burrito and asked to add mushrooms and onions and when they brought it it was huge and full of shrimp and what I asked for. My husbands food was good too. So far I give two thumbs up! We will be going back.
Great Staff. Ramon has a quick witted sense of humor. You’ll want to listen carefully, watch his humorous mannerisms and enjoy the attention you get like nowhere else. This man has a big heart and is really interested in having you enjoy yourselves.
Not worth it. I second everyone’s opinion on the wait staff, even though I see them working at multiple other restaurants around Anchorage they can’t seem to run this place professionally. Besides the constant ribbing by the wait staff the food just isn’t worth going in for, Taco King is better and cheaper. I’ve been twice because a relative likes it and I just can’t wrap my mind around how this place is still in business. They are in the higher range of prices for Mexican food but the food and atmosphere do not deliver.
Tarascos – Delicious Food – Need Staff!. OK, I’ve been to Tarascos 4 times since June of 2013. I love the food. Hands down, they have the best, most authentic Mexican food in the entire state. I can say that, because I’m originally from out-of-state and know what good Mexican food is. Gallo’s, Garcia’s, etc is all crap. Tarascos has great food. But, they have no staff. If the owner reads this, PLEASE HIRE SOME STAFF TO SERVE THE TABLES. DON’T EXPECT PEOPLE TO COME BACK WHEN A SIMPLE DINNER TAKES 2.5 HOURS BECAUSE THE OWNER IS ALSO THE WAITER FOR EVERY TABLE IN THE BUILDING! I’d hate to see this place close down because of service. And let me be clear, the service is great (from the owner) but he is no omnipresent superman. HIRE SOME STAFF!
First visit and loved the food!! Service was great too! Best Mexican food in Anchorage!
Sad to say but I will never go back. The food was good, the coffee excellent but the tongue-lashing my girlfriends and I had to endure is totally unacceptable. I’m all for having a little fun in a relaxed environment but Ramone repeatedly crossed the line. He ridiculed me for ordering a salad, hit on several of my friends and threw away a meal that was supposed to be boxed. The whole experience was so disappointing, especially that I go out of my way to support local businesses. The comments made by our waiter were so inappropriate that I wouldn’t dream of taking my children there. I would never tolerate such disrespect from my children or husband, why would I pay to be so disrespected?
