Pleasant Surprise. Ate at Shaka Shack for the 1st time 8/14/13 around 3pm and was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the kalua pork bonzai bowl. With the bonzai bowls you get to pick the meat, with brown or white rice or noodles. I had it with brown rice and cabbage. Super delish with Seracha(sp?) sauce, pork wasnt fatty at all and had no weird mystery bits, it was 7.95 I think, but the ample portion was enough for my lunch twice and a little late night snacking. I wasnt expecting someplace in a mall to have something so good, it took a few min. for them to get it out to me, but thats always a good thing, it means they actually have to cook something and you know you’re not eating microwaved crap. The guys were super nice and had great customer service and gave me little cups with lids to but my extra sauce in to take home. Tasty non greasy, hot food, ample portions for the price, and friendly staff…Id also like to note the staff had multiple tattoos, some even facial tattoos but gave me the best customer service Ive had in a long time. Tip them well when you’re there!

Ono kine Grindz. It was our first time at the The Shaka Shack yesterday 4/27/13. I liked there page about several months ago and always seen the good food. Finally my wife decides to go and eat there with me. We had the Kalua pork nachos, volcano wings and the mix plate, talk about broke da mouth action, Kalua pig was in point and makes a awesome meat for nachos, volcano wings explosion of tangy sweet chili infusion Ono dat one and the Teriyaki ribs so tender and the chicken Katsu amazing! Mahalo for bringing Ono kine grindz to Alaska!

Surprisingly amazing (Hawaiian food, in a mall in Alaska). I’ll go out of my way for it, and prefer it to a well-known, local Hawaiian chain.

It’s a food court place, but the pork platter is a pretty good lunch deal with PLENTY of pork.
