The first time I have ever had this type of Latin food!! & OH MY DELICIOUSNESS the food was everything I could have ever wanted for my first time trying it and more!! It’s more of a mom and pop type of restaurant but that may be the best part because you can taste the love in the food!! I love it!!
I’ve lived in Anchorage for 3 years now and could kick myself in the face for not coming here from day 1!!!! The food was sooo good! My husband and I got the Spanish rice and pork stew with extra gravy over the rice… OMG!!! Soooo good!!! And some Sweet Platanos for a little desert!!! So crispy and sweet! OBVIOUSLY I’m going back!!!

Didn’t like this place the first time I went because I didn’t know what to order. After trying a few different items I ended up loving the roasted pork, chicharones, beans and rice, and the ribs. The owners are awesome and are always very courteous.
Felt like I was in Mexico. As I walked in I felt the cold weather shrink away and the atmosphere and sounds of Mexico flood in. This is a family owned restaurant with the telemundo going but it took me back to many backpacking trips eating with the locals and then wandering back to a full hostel. If you speak spanish, consider this a good opportunity to warm up for your next trip to Cancun. The food is authentic (if kept on a heated buffet) and the spicy vinegar sauce was a wonderful surprise. I had the roasted pork and I feel like it benefited from its exposure to being on a heated buffet. If you want an american-latin experience you should probably go elsewhere. Me Gusta
You have to know what you’re going for. If you want a candlelit dinner, wrong place. If you want home cooked Caribbean food, served by one of the friendliest guys in anchorage, at a reasonable place, go here. Haven’t left feeling anything but satisfied after several visits
