I just purchased two chopped BBQ sandwiches at the drive-thru in Anchorage for the first time. No menu posted anywhere but just wanted a couple of sandwiches. I wasn’t told you got 2 sides with that sandwich. I ordered okra and a side of slaw. It took about 15 mins. waiting time and when the food finally came, she said the price was $32! I was in shock, coming from the south with good smoked BBQ. I had eaten at the one on the Arm and it was spendy but WOW. I asked her how much were those sandwiches and she said $15 each….no mention of 2 sides. When I got home, there was a small container of slaw in one box, okra in the other….no second sides. The bread was just an ordinary bun you would get at Safeway on sale and the BBQ was okay. It tasted better with the sauce provided. VERY DISAPPOINTED and frustrated that the girl didn’t inform me of the 2 side dishes. It would make the $15 for a sandwich a little more acceptable. First and last time through that drive-thru.

I eat here what seems like at least a few times a month for the following reasons: tasty food, fast service, reasonable prices (for Alaska), and love that mustard sauce. They’ve change thing up menu wise a couple of times now to increase options and look fancier, but it’s functionally the same. Long as I can get my two thigh meal, I’ll keep coming back. However, I will agree with other posters in that the mac and cheese is bland.
