Disrespect. My family, long life Alaskans and Homesteaders of Alaska, took my brother here (who is special) and made them sit in a whole other room then everyone else… And treated them badly!! My brother has a way bigger heart then these people ever will

Patron. I first had dinner at the Turnagain House many many years ago.Recently, I had the pleasure of attending a birthday party with (15) people. Each of us enjoyed wonderful appetizers, soup, salad and entrees. Personally, I devoured the yummy fried calamari, crab cakes (the best I’ve ever eaten!) and the entre seafood paella.HIGHLY RECOMMEND, ENJOY!!

TERRIFIC!. Last nights (8/6/13) dinner for four was fabulous! After two years we gave Pepe’s Turnagain House another chance and were really suprised by the quality of the food, and service, both excellent. If you have not eaten here in a while, get there now to enjoy their fine dinning before the lines start to form. The Pork Loin was my fav. Ahi was done perfect, pasta too.We will go back!

It was really only OK. I am not sure what I was expecting, but I didn’t feel like the food warranted the prices. It was more than edible, but not great. A bit overpriced too considering what is available in anchorage. May go back, but wouldn’t recommend.

Excellent!. Went to dinner last night as was pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent. Settled on bottled of Syrah from the extensive list. We got three appetizers; escargot in mushroom caps, oysters(1/2 dozen) with verjue sauce, and steamers. All three were fantastic, especially the escargot. Apps were small and tasty. Many specials this night, mostly seafood and all sounded great. I landed on the halibut cheeks and the wife ended up on ginger teriyaki Copper River red. Both entrees were FANTASTIC. The halibut cheeks melted in my mouth like butter. The carrot/potato puree complimented the cabbage/carrot/onion salad wonderfully. We had dessert; chocolate cake with raspberry sauce and flan. Both were good, not exceptional. Business was medium to slow for a Friday night. Our server was very knowledgable and helpful. Service was slow but rightfully so with the atmosphere and view so do not stop in if you are in a rush. Dishes are high end and expensive but SERIOUSLY the flavor and experience rivaled Simons for quality, view, and overall meal. Take the drive and enjoy the excellent food. Compliments to the Chef. We will be returning customers.

Never again. We had a Groupon for this restaurant. While the tablecloth was clean, and the view was beautiful, the tables were too close together, so when the waitstaff walked by, my hair kept flying up, it was that close. About waitstaff: awful service. Our waiter for some reason was very patronizing, and disappeared upon taking our order. Literally, he went away and we have not seen him until the food came. A sweet young man serving water took pity on us and brought us the bread basket. I had Caesar salad with roast duck. Salad was drenched in oil which did not make it taste any better. Duck was horribly overcooked (seriously, it takes a lot to ruin a duck!). Other people in our party had: Linguini with white clam sause – too much hot pepper, Four cheese pasta (OK, but again drenched in oil). Not worth driving from Anchorage, unless you are masochistic and enjoy to be put down by waiters and eating mediocre food.

Warm, inviting, excellent service! Paella is delicious! Will likely become one of our landing spots. Worth the drive from Anchorafe!
