Lunch on Monday. I was sadly disappointed with my last order. Something has changed. It used to be good food. (meaning in the last three or four months) Right now it is not good. I ordered the burrito. My husband ordered the nachos and I ordered quesadillas for the three kids. My burrito was wrapped with a tortilla that was not a flour tortilla nor a corn tortilla nor a white corn tortilla. It looked to be whole wheat or something and it threw off the flavor of the burrito and just absorbed the contents of the burrito. The burrito was soggy, meaning the ingredients were not firm and fresh but soggy and bland. My husbands nachos were beef, chips and cheese with a huge glop of runny sour cream in the middle. The order board said Nachos: chips, meat, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, olives and pico de gallo. When we asked about it, it was explained to us that they did not have tomatoes to make the pico de gallo and the olives are usually optional so you must ask for them. The kids quesadillas were smaller than I had expected and the rice was really dry and the beans were really watered down, to the point that my daughter asked why they put soup on a plate. When did they stop serving chips and salsa while you wait? We got nothing. The last time I was there they kept bringing fresh salsa and chips. The place is small and food is made to order, so you can progressively see the sequence of people who ordered and were served. My husbands nachos arrived but that was it. In the meantime, the two groups of people that placed orders to go after us were served and sent on their way. Then, my burrito and one kids quesadilla arrived. Then another table was served and I had to walk up and ask specifically if my other two kids quesadillas were coming… Im pretty sure they forgot that there were 3 orders of quesadillas. Meanwhile, my husband is being polite and waiting to eat his nachos until the table was served…but by then the cheese had hardened, the meat was bland and the sour cream was a runny soup in the middle of the plate. All in all, it was a bad experience with below standard food, which is too bad because it was our preferred Mexican restaurant in town.
Good food and great service. Nice and clean!
Lunch at El zarape. I was so disappointed with this restaurant with the price for what I got was not good. The salad was wilted and did not look appetizing at all. I am sorry to say that it was the first and last time I will ever go there. The service was not that great either, they did not care that I was unhappy with my food.
