I have to say BS to the costco comment. The food is all made onsite from scratch. I’ve eaten there well over 20 times and have NEVER been disappointed … Great food. I drive out from Anchorage for each trip and it’s well worth the drive!

Ok food, slow service.. Hope you have lots to talk about at your table. Slow to take an order and even longer to bring it. Food is ok. Nothing special. Refills on drinks seemed to annoy staff too. Been here three times, not gonna bother with a fourth.

RE: Microwave and Costco Reviewer. Having worked at Turkey Red, I can tell you there is no microwave in the kitchen!!! Most everything is made from scratch (we even make our own mozzarella!). I’ve watched the kitchen prep staff make the spanakopita, so I know it does not come from Costco. I’d suggest you give Turkey Red another chance, especially in the summer when we’re getting tons of fresh, local, and usually organic produce from our local farmers.I have high food standards, and I love eating at Turkey Red. The kitchen staff puts a lot of love into what they create and serve. Yeah, the kitchen can be slow in getting you your food, and the service can be sub-par, but the staff really cares about the people coming through the restaurant and they’re constantly trying to improve. My favorite foods from TRed?Appetizer: Caprese or Baked BrieMain Course: Chicken and Figs, Braised Lamb Shank, or Cioppino (Fish Stew)Dessert: Chocolate Mousse Tart or Flourless Chocolate Cake

Turkey Red is my favorite restaurant in the Valley. The food is amazing and the service is fantastic!

Stopped going to this place because it is way over rated. The food is ok but not great for the prices they charge. Last time I went I had the moussaka. Sorry, it tasted like it had been heated in the microwave and wasn’t very good. We had the spanakopita for appetizers. They were good but we found the same frozen boxed spanakopita at the Costco the following weekend. We bought it and when we took it out of the box, it looked exactly like what we were served at Turkey Red. After heating and eating the Costco stuff, we were sure that it was the same stuff Turkey Red served us only they charged 10 times the price. Not going to a place that serves frozen goods from Costco. I’ll just get it at Costco and save some money.

Great food and very nice people. However consistently VERY slow service. Doesn’t matter if they are slow or busy. Don’t expect to be in and out.
