High prices for low-quality food. Drinks are semi-reasonable. Not my top choice for a night out. Definitely a last resort.

Thursday Night Happy Hour – Poor Customer Service. With so many Ahwatukee restaurants struggling to survive it is hard to believe that Loco Patron is failing in customer service. My wife and visited Loco Patron in Ahwatukee for happy hour last Thursday night and when we tabbed out we noticed that they charged us more than was printed in their menu for our Coronas. The happy hour special was printed in the menu as $2/bottle but we were charged $2.50/bottle. When we questioned it we were told that the prices recently went up and that the menus were wrong. We felt this was misrepresentation on part of the management and surprised they didnt honor what was printed in their menus. Even when the manager was contacted they didn’t budge one bit! They didn’t really seem to care. While the amount in question only turned out to be a few bucks it is really a matter of principle and how they choose to treat their customers when something like this is brought to their attention. In a restaurant both good food and good service is required in order to be successful. It is a shame that Loco Patron is lacking. We will choose to dine elsewhere.

You’ve got to be kidding. We gave this place three chances. That’s one more time than I usually would, but being a local, I was hoping beyond hope that it would be somewhere I could go and enjoy some decent Mexican food out in the Foothills. Don’t be fooled by the change of management. It’s just bad. If you like your salsa to be nothing more than vinegar and paprika, you’re in luck. The fish tacos were totally inedible. Three of us agreed to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt and we’re all embarrassed that we gave it the third try.Service? Oh my god! Forget it. My take on this place is that it’s nothing more than a hookup spot for the locals who are looking for a great sheet-swapping experience. It’s not about food at all.DON’T BOTHER!!!

I love supporting the local Loco -. I think Loco is really good. It isn’t perfect but for a place so close to a nice neighborhood, it’s fun. The atmosphere is excellent. It’s hopping, it’s exciting, you have a good mix of people and ages and the bar area itself if cool. It’s a fun place to grab a drink and hang out a while. The service is sometimes good and sometimes not as good, but it’s never bad enough that it really annoys you. It’s a bar/restaurant – if you are looking for fine dining, then go get it. My wife and I often go, bring our books, and drink for a couple hours and enjoy the atmosphere. Their drinks are ice cold, perfect for the summer afternoons. For drinking, it gets an A.The food is not great. The best things on the menu to me are the salt and pepper wings, Loco Taco Salad and their Chimichangas. All three of those are very good. But to me, most of the other stuff is just average at best. I’m not a big fan of their enchilada sause, which is important to me, but they did recently change their chips and salsa for the better. I’m also not the biggest fan of their rice. It’s just kind of bland and not something you look forward to. For eating, it gets a C+.I recommend. I love having Loco around the corner and will continue to visit as much as possible. It’s a place to go for a good time moreso than for a kickass dinner. Just my opinion.

Drink here but don’t bother w/Food. Great corner to hang out and drink, cheap beer and usually good drink specials. Pleasent but small patio. Food is a joke, definitely out of a can or something, just very blah and certainly pricey for the quality. If the food was good I’d probably be there every other day for happy hour.

Major bummer…… This place could rock this corner but they need a major overhaul in terms of food and service. There’s just not enough beer to make me happy with this place. I’ve been there a handful of times – mainly to support a local, nearby place. Disappointed every time. Service is slow and not all that friendly. Food was very average, okay, less than average. It’s obvious that stuff comes out of a can and just heated up. Their tortillas don’t smell or taste fresh – how can this be in Arizona?
