Great food, great service. The cafe is located in a suburban strip mall, which is ugh from my pov. However, this is Phoenix and many of the gems in the greater Phoenix area are similarly located. The cafe is well back from the street in a quiet location and facing west, which provides partial sun and partial shade on the patio at mid-day: excellent. I am NOT vegetarian but very much appreciate the organic food, locally produced (even the rice, not grown in Arizona, is from a nearish location in California). Our service was excellent and the waiter very knowledgeable about food and willing to modify ingredients to meet dietary restrictions. I had a burrito, which was really very good considering it was meatless (and I don’t eat soy based ‘meat substitutes’ – though those are on offer for folks who want that. The cafe treats all its food and drink as craft: nothing mass produced and all assembled and presented with TLC. This is a rare treat, indeed. One consequence is that it is not exactly cheap (you’ll get less expensive edible burrito products at a Taco Bell, etc.) but represents value for money. Check the menu, check the prices, and enjoy. I am definitely going back asap.
Pomegranate is great for vegetarians and otherwise who want to either eat healthy or indulge in some delicious breakfast and dessert goodies. They have awesome coffee, killer chocolate confections, amazing French toast, and some food that’s actually really healthy. My go-tos are the Green Garden Protein Bowl, the Rainbow Wrap and the Raw Arizona Roll — but if you’re not worried about healthiness, try the Banana Bread French Toast or Western Tacos. sassydove.com
First visit. Searching for a great little vegan place and did not find it here. Uncomfortable seating. Had to ask for napkins. Waitress dropped potato wedge on my new pants and didnt seem overly apologrtic. Waited too long for our drinks. My wrap could not be eaten as a wrap, fell apart. Very overpriced, again waitress seemed clueless and had to ask her to take our dirty dishes away so we could enjoy dessert. Call me old fashioned but simple manners were missing with staff. 2 looked like they needed a shower and definiitely a haircut. We told staff it was our first time there, not that I expected anything special, but nobody really went out of their way to ensure our coming back. Food was ok. Dessert very good. I had the pomegranate trifle. Nobody told us evening meal special. I overheard it at the next table. Guess we will keep looking for a favorite place. Could be a super place but service and staff need to shape up
SoSo. Good food though a little pricey. Staff seems to be a little clueless and several people seem to walk around aimlessly. Took almost 25 minutes for my cup if soup that they somehow lost my order.
Must not need business. The place closes at four pm. Ridiculous. States open till eight.
