Not a sports bar. WE met our son at Armadillo for dinner, he had been to Happy Hour several times in the past. It was our assumption that Armadillo was a sports bar (even though we noticed the word Grill). How wrong we were. The restaurant does boast many televisions but the dining area is table clothed and the atmosphere not annoyingly loud . The friendly and timely service of the wait staff was great. But most importantly the food’s presentation, quality and taste will have us coming back for Sunday dinner in the future.
Happy Hour…. Is a very good deal here. My wife and I went today to try it out and get some fried pickles. There fried pickles were pretty good at least in my very limited experience with this new treat. We just ordered appetizers for dinner and they were all good. Nothing was out of this world good but was very good by bar food standards and is a good choice if you are looking for a watering hole with some pretty good eats.
Can’t wait to go back!. I love this place! The food is incredible. The last time I was there I had chicken corn chowder, which was excellent and Richards Pub burger, which is a burger, with an egg on an English muffin. The entire staff is friendly, which is definitely a plus! Definitely stop by and check it out!
100% agree with Jessie. Great food, atmosphere, every person on the staff also has a great friendly attitude. Free pool on Mondays and surprisingly good hummus, amongst other h. hour specials as v. vegetarian mentioned.
Happy hour heaven. I haven’t had any of their entrees because I only go there for their happy hour, which is fantastic. They have appetizers that are ony $3.50. We usually order some combination of the following; cajun fried pickles, fried mozzarella, hummus, calamari, or armadillo gold wings. The fried pickles are to die for. I never thought I would like them, but if you like pickles you will love these. The hummus is tasty and homemade, the mozzarella is good, and my boyfriend loves the calamari. The calamari portion in HUGE. He also like the gold wings. As far as drinks they usually have good specials on beer. I like to order their bloody marys, they are my favorite bloody marys in Phoenix!
