An Arizona Establishment. I grew up eating at this place and very little has changed in the last 20 years. The sliders and Cheese fries are great and the owner has always made sure his customer’s left happy. I remember when I was a kid and purchased an order of cheese fries with a side of ranch to go. As my sister and I walked home the owner pulled up in his truck a couple blocks away letting us know they forgot to give us our ranch dip. Service like that sticks with you.
Jaykaytee. My husband is from Chicago. I have heard the story (more times than I desire, but goes with being married to someone for 24 years) about how often he did U-turns to get to the hot dog stand for a Chicago dog. He waxes nostalgic about the neon green relish, NO ketchup, and the little peppers. I’ve had some pretty good dogs out of the old Home Depot carts (miss them), but have to say the one I had today at Chicago Hamburger Co. was the best dog I have had. It was small but with the abundance of HOT, I mean hot out of the fryer fries and a great chocolate milkshake, I was groaning, not a full Thanksgiving OMG groan, but it hinted toward this and I was hungry going in. If you do not like dives stay away. Those of us that believe exposure to a slightly less than antiseptic establishment/life builds up our immune system will be right at home here. It ain’t pretty and it’s cluttered. I didn’t notice some of the less than sanitary practices mentioned in some other reviews, but you know, sh*t happens and I don’t pay much attention to this stuff when I’m shoveling food. If you want to experience this food without the parking challenges, I suggest getting there before noon or after 1pm. We arrived at 12:30ish on a Friday and the place was packed and remained so until the prime time lunch window was passed. We did snag the last open table, but the incoming vs. table availability seemed to work out well. There are two outside tables for those that want to experience foot traffic up close and personal, love to look at vehicle grills, swoon at the sound of traffic, and desire to have the smell of exhaust as their air source.
Best place for a good burger, fries and a shake. This place hasn’t changed in 20 years. If it did, I probably would go here.
Best Hot Dog in Town. There’s a debate between Chicago style and Coney Island. I’m a Chicago style girl all the way and this is the only place to get the real thing.
