Visiting Delhi Palace was always a must in the back of my head. I heard about how amazing this place was from a close friend of mine and ever since, I have been meaning to take a visit. The location is in a small plaza by ASU, and pulling up to the parking lot I had no idea what I was ordering. Immediately the host approached my friend and I with a welcoming smile. Looking around you would wonder how the place was still open because there was just one other family in the restaurant. The atmosphere is mellow and quiet; however there was a smell that threw me off. Once you sit in the restaurant for a while, you get use to the smell. The soft India music helps you get into the feel of the restaurant, along with the wall painting and pictures of India culture. The servers didnt speak English very well, but they were very helpful of explaining the different dishes to me. They kept up with our refills and they always asked us if we were doing well. The Manager was walking around the restaurant making sure everything was going well and just keeping up a friendly conversation. Anything that the server didnt say clearly, he cleared it up for us and gave us suggestions on what to eat. I think it is in the Indian culture, for them to be so welcoming because all the employees were very polite to me. When it was time to order, I had no idea where to begin. I order the Chicken Pakoras and the Vegetable Samosas. I had no idea what to expect with the Vegetable Samosas, but the Chicken Pakoras were almost like chicken tenders. The batter was thinner than usual and the sauce they gave you to dip them in, was sweet. I would rate the Chicken Pakoras a seven on a scale from one to ten. The Vegetable Samosa was fried potatoes mixed with peas. At first I thought it was gross but after a while I began to like it. I used the sauce given to me to put with the Samosas and it tasted a lot better. On a scale from one to ten I would rate this dish a five. The food was different than what I was used to, therefore I just had to keep eating it. Overall I would give Delhi Palace another try and try some new dishes. I recommend this place to someone that wants a new experience.

The lunch buffet was worth 8.99. The flavoring was excellent.

Very disappointing. I used to be a regular at this restaurant about 10 years ago and was excited to try it again. HOwever, it was not a good experience. The service did not speak English, the one waiter who did did not explain that the curry does not come with any rice or naan so I had to hold up my friend’s dinner while I ordered these separately. The somosa was dried out and could not be cut with a fork. The chicken in the korma was not white meat and I only counted 2 pieces. No peshwari naan is available. No mango chutney for the popadums. It really felt like you were being exploited. 1 starter, 2 currys and 1 glass of wine (basic chardonnay that was past its prime) $60. No wonder the restaurant was empty on a Saturday night.

Hoo Boy. Went for the lunch buffet, and was pleasantly surprised. The food was good, but not exceptional. I prefer lamb over chicken when it comes to Indian. The vegetable fritters were wonderful, and the nan was perfect. It was all a bit too spicy for my weak palate, but it helped that the Mango Lassi was served in a chilled bowl that -stayed- cold. The desserts were promising, but just weren’t my kind of thing. All in all, I’ll definitely go again. It’s good, filling, and a very nice atmosphere.

Great food. Enjoyed the mushroom pakowra, veggie platter (especially the spinach with cheese), and rasm alai dessert. Service leaves much to be desired, but the owners seem really nice.

Authentic Indian food with nice ambiance. The food as well as the look and feel of the Restaurant are comparable to the upscale eateries in India. Never expected to see such a nice setting for an Indian restaurant in the US. The food had a traditional Punjabi taste. Do try the Lassis for the innovative serving style, if not for the refreshing taste.

Excellent food. The chicken tikka masala is unbelievable. Get that, if nothing else!!
