Phoenix Petes Fish & Chips. I am from Phoenix and think the Food at Petes is Great! I live in another state now but visit Petes when I come to the Valley. Its not like the food on the East Coast so the people from back east wont care for Petes but I wont Bash the Food on the East coast and I have been from Philly to Florida and have eaten at a few places on the east coast But I will continue to listen to them bashing Petes and saying people in Phoenix must be crazy. I brought my wife who is from Michigan to Petes and she Loves it too. Petes has been in Phoenix a long time and will be here much longer. If you dont have something nice to say about People or Restaurants or your Mother In Law, then try to Tone it down a little. Or Not, Peace Out
It was crunchy amd awesome fries were perfect. Curtious staff Worth the drive
I can not believe how much hype has gone into sustaining what could be the worst restaurant chain in the Phoenix metro area. Not surprisingly, a whopping 60% of Phoenix restaurants are fast food and this one epitomizes all of the negative stereotypes about the Phoenix market. The fact that this place is voted in the top ten for fish and chips proves that Phoenix (officially) is in dire need of help. The greasy squares of chopped and formed fish product should never find its way even into institutional settings. The ridiculous sauce that is expected to slather every morsel that comes out of the fryer is expected to cover the horrible taste of the fish is asking a little too much of this amateurish attempt at condimentation. I beg one thing at least, please Arizona, wake up and realize, THIS IS NOT FISH AND CHIPS!
HORRIBLE. My husband and I drove in after seeing the cute fish sign outside. The place was so busy we thought it must be good–we were very wrong! We both ordered a fish and chips meal. It was one of worst meals we have ever eaten. The fish was in a square patty. The patty was greasy on the outside and dry on the inside. It had too much salt sprinkled on it. I asked for vingear (traditional with fish and chips) and the employee looked at me like I was not from plant earth. We’ll never go back and can’t figure out why this restaurant was on the top ten list for Phoenix fish and chips places at AZCentral. Like the last reviewer, we also can’t figure out how this restaurant can manage to stay in business.
Could Have Been Carp. My greasy formed fish brick could have been carp for all I know. I was disappointed after an article in the Phoenix paper made Pete’s sound like a fish and chips paradise.
Detestable!. I only tried it once, and maybe it was a bad day. Drove through and ordered a variety of shrimp & fish & chips.Tried a so called shrimp, and had to spit it out. A greasy, battered mass of unrecognizable CRAP. One of the rare times I have thrown food away. How do they stay in business?
