Slightly better than average classic old fashioned Mexican food. However, the vibe is fun. A real dive filled with character. I will come back. Looking forward to an afternoon of $3 happy hour margaritas and pitchers of beer. I bet there is nothing bad on the menu. My beef fajita taco and pork tamale was a solid B. My wife’s burrito was even better.
One of my favorite restaurants, orange booths that have been the same since they opened and great service makes for a fun night. The food is excellent and it is a go to place to celebrate something.
Gross. Carne asada tacos tasted like horse meat. No seasoning. Fish tacos tasted rotten
Fun and filling!. Expecting greasy food was thrilled it was the total opposite! Sat in the bar due to speed and was amazed at the quality and quantity of food. 1 enchilada was filling enough. Service was fast and friendly.
An old standby. Been eating here for 15 years or so. In my top 10 for Phoenix, very solid and consistent. There are two rooms: the bar and the dining room. The whole place has a bit of a noisy, blue-collar bar atmosphere, if that sort of thing concerns you, but everyone is having a good time. The salsa is not that hot, but tastes great and there is also a bottle of red chile sauce. The food is hot and great tasting, with plenty of cheese. Every time I eat here, which is only once or twice a year, I wonder why I don’t drop in more often. Yes, George W. Bush dropped in for dinner in 2004, and there is a signed letter and newspaper article framed above the table he used. I wonder where they parked the motorcade.
Always a favorite. I’ve been eating here for decades! Grab a pitcher of margaritas and try a Mary Lou!
Great!. Used to attend meetings in Scottsdale annually and never failed to eat here AR least once. First time back in several years and it is still my favorite place for Mexican food. Nothing has changed….it is still a neighborhood dive with cold beer, great food and excellent margaritas. Prices very reasonable.
