  This is a casual upscale restaurant that serves seasonal American Food. They offer you a comfortable bright bar, a stylish dinning room and an out door patio. They serve natural fed meats, free range organic chicken and they source from local farms as much as possible. Based on only one experience it’s safe to say some things they do are outstanding. I tried the blacked petrole sole sandwich on house made bread. The fish was fresh and cooked properly and more important this sandwich was incredibly delicious with a secret sauce that hits your mouth in all the right places. I wasn’t sure about the fries being house made so I can’t say for sure but they were fried with real truffle shavings and did taste like truffle. I didn’t think the balsamic ketchup condiment went with anything on my plate so I didn’t use it. I tasted a small piece of my husband’s chicken sandwich and I have to say it was a delicious bite of chicken. They made a simple breast of chicken taste memorable. For me where they fell short was the house made prickly pear gelato. The flavor was hard to identify. Service was efficient.

  The food was good but some portions small. Ahi tuna salad had a decent sized filet. The waiter was extremely rude. We moved to a sunny table on the patio from the chilly shade. We were the only ones there. He made us move back into the shade as we were obstructing the path. Apparently it was impossible to move the adjacent table out of the way. He made zero effort to find a solution. Did I mention we were the only ones on the patio? No one else came the entire time we were there. So we ate our food in the chilly shade.

  Will Not Return. We were so excited when this restaurant opened as Carefree is in desperate need of some decent restaurants. At first the food was decent and the portions were sufficient although overpriced compared to comparable restaurants in Scottsdale. Over time the food has become skimpier and skimpier in portion size and quality. The last time we were there we both left hungry and were reluctant to return. Neither my husband or I are overweight or in need of huge portions, but a portion you don’t leave hungry with would be nice. Today we decided to give them one more try. My husbands Ahi Tuna salad arrived with a few greens on one corner of the plate and the smallest portion of Ahi I have ever seen on the other corner. He was so hungry when he finished that I had to share my sandwich with him. Our bill at lunch for the Ahi Tuna salad, a chicken sandwich (which was mostly stale bread), an iced tea and lemonade came close to $50. We will never return

  Food ‘+’ ;Service ‘-‘;. We ate there 8/22 and it was our first time and the food was excellent and presentations were great. What took away from the experience was the service. Two servers for this restaurant are not enough. There was a ‘third person’ and I am not sure if he was the owner but I never saw him help and he had to see the servers were overwhelmed. Water glasses were never refilled during our two hours there; When our server did remember, our wine glasses were refilled. What was very strange was the ‘third person’ being handed an empty, quality spirits, liquor bottle and he returning it 1/2 full to the bar. Because of the excellent food, we will try it once more.
