I have never written a restaurant review but after my experience last evening felt compelled to do so. It took one hour to get two appetizers, I drank club soda, my bill was $25 and I left hungry and angry. Never again!
Salmon was on par with lox you’ll find at the grocery store. If you go I recommend ordering rolls with sauces, as the fish quality is very mediocre. Decent service. Heard a group doing sake bombs at the hibachi tables, seems like that’s what this place is about, not quality sushi.
Gwooty. My wife and I went there today (8/22/12) and were disappointed with the quality of the food. We have eaten there before but this time was not good. I do not normally give a restaurant a a bad review unless I am really disappointed and this was one of those times. I do not recommend it to anyone. inother words dont bother going.
Not a review, just a comment. Mr. An’s Teppan Steak & Sushi is not in Casino del Sol. That’s a different restaurant entirely. How can the exact same review be given for two different restaurants?
AN TEPPAN CULINARY DISGRACE!!!. Recent newcomers to Tucson from our former home in Minneapolis, MN we are always looking for foods we enjoyed back there. We enjoy Teppan style dinners at Benihana’s back in MN as they are excellent and such a treat as the performing chefs are truely great entertainment as well as cordial and excellent chefs. DO NOT go to Mr. An’s if you are expecting to have a delicious dinner or even an edible one. We chose to sit at a small table next to one of the large Teppan tables as there was only the two of us and the Teppan tables had all be booked for larger parties. We were assured our food would be just as excellent as what was being prepared live by the performing chefs…NOT!! We ordered the Teriyaki Chicken dinner and the Shrimp & Sesame chicken dinner. Absolutely over cooked, dry, rubbery and tasteless and way OVER PRICED. Never ever will we set foot in a Mr. An’s or recommend it to even a stranger. If you want to know what good Teppan style food is come to Benihana’s in Minnesota. You won’t be disappointed.
Good service, terrible food. We ate there (teppan) as a party of 6 on 4/21/2012. The service was good, but the food was terrible. The teppan steak was tough, the teppan shrimp were greatly overcooked and had the texture of rubber, and the fried rice and noodles had no flavor. In addition, the vegetables appeared to be frozen, not fresh. Also, they charged $2 each for the fried rice but didn’t tell us this at the time the order was taken. We were simply asked if we preferred steamed rice or fried rice. We also had several sushi rolls, none of which had any flavor. Overall, I give Mr Ans Teppan Steak and Sushi (Northwest) only 2 stars. Nobody in our party will go back.
Family. We love love loved it last night. The food was excellent, the staff very pleasant and chef was most entertaining. Some of our party had sushi and said it was the best ever and presention was art. 2 of us had jumbo shrimp and 1 teppan chicken all of which was given raves. I highly recommend Mr. An’s and 5 star votes from the family.
