First time here and it won’t be the last. Incredibly fast considering the volume of visitors, great service and fantastic food. Had the bean and potato burrito and shared a cheese quesadilla, so fresh, the best tortillas I have ever tried and brilliant value for money.
About a month ago I had the pleasure of dinning at Carolinas Mexican restaurant in downtown Phoenix. It was hands down the best Mexican food I had ever eaten. It is a great tasting whole in the wall place that has been there for many years. Carolinas is not super expensive; my carne asada burrito that I ordered was five dollars. You definitely get your money worth of food the burritos are extremely large.When my family and I go downtown for sporting events or concerts we always make Carolinas a priority. Their tortillas are absolutely phenomenal, my family and I tend to get a dozen of them. They are abnormally large and taste like candy. The tortillas are what make the food so good; everything you get there taste fantastic.There is no question that I would recommend this place to everybody. It is affordable, taste like a little bit of heaven and you do not get food like this everyday. It is not a chain restaurant, there is only one Carolinas and its the best Mexican food in Arizona. If you are ever in the area you cant pass it up. This is our favorite place to eat.

Great Food. Good Experience. We eat here every time we come to Phoenix. In a week, we have eaten here 4 times. It is impossible to get good Mexican food where we live . This is very good. The price can’t be beat, either. My favourite is the Machacha Plate. I wish it came with a second tortilla. My wife’s favourite is the enchilada, taco, tostada combination. My daughter favours the Chicken Chimichanga. The place provides a fun experience. The service is always fast and courteous. We will continue to go every time we are here.
Terrible!. Work right by the location and we get food often. The golden rule around our work campus is to never order more than 3 items in one order because 100% of the time they will forget. Well, they forgot! Drove back and got an even worse product. Staying with nothing would have been better.
Red machaca burrito. Is for real. Mine shot out juice like a meaty squirt gun.
Honest and simple food. The chicken was very juicy and tender and the portions generous. Chips were delish and the salsa smokey and spicy. Admittedly, the place is beat up and run down.
