Unsatisfying. The taste definielty did not live up to the price.
Catering. I have to host lunches on a regular basis and have used Crave Sandwich Shop on numerous occasions to cater these highly visible luncheons. We have consistently been pleased with the quality and presentation of these lunches. The owner has a great can do attitude and is eager to please his customers. If you are looking for a quality sandwich, salad, and good value Crave does the job.
Best sandwich shop in town. I go to Crave at least once a week (headed there today, in fact). The unique sandwiches and salads made with the freshest ingredients keep me coming back. I like supporting local, individually owned businesses over chain restaurants, and even though there is a national chain sandwich shop directly across the street from my office, I walk a bit further to pay less for a better sandwich from Crave.
The name says it all. Crave Sandwich Cafe is almost a daily addiction for me. It’s close to the office but it’s the food that keeps me coming back. Their specialty are sandwiches but everything on the menu is good and FRESH, and prepared by a friendly staff just to your liking.
It’s good!. I have been working in downtown Phoenix for a little over five years now and up until recent ate at Crave at least once a week, and often three or more times a week. I still eat there every once in awhile, but my new job is farther away. Crave is hidden inside the Mercado, so you won’t see it from the street, but it’s there.I am shocked that this place doesn’t have more positive reviews, so I’m coming to their defense!Crave is a small locally-owned business. The owner’s name is Tom, and Tim manages the place day-to-day. I’ve also noticed the faces of the staff back in the kitchen have remained constant over the last five years. I think they also manage a small branch kitchen in the Children’s Museum across the street. Both Tom and Tim know me on a first-name basis. The food quality is very good and I’ve never had a bad meal that I can remember. The turkey avocado is great (I don’t like sprouts though), and the turkey cranberry is darn good. Their soda fountain has Pepsi and Mountain Dew, and I’ve noticed that they never water the drinks down, which is nice since I’m a soda junkie. They also make very high quality salads, but I’m more of a sandwich guy myself. The prices are fair. Downtown eating is a little expensive and people like to complain about that, but relative to other businesses in the area, it’s a good fair price. A few of their products are a little expensive, but some others are bargains. They have a good variety of sandwiches, salads, bottled drinks, and snacks (cheese, pickles, eggs, veggies, yogurt, chips, etc). I am somewhat sympathetic about the prices because I know that these businesses pay high rents because the landlords down there want way too much for real estate. One thing that I really love about Crave but didn’t know until a year or two ago was that they made breakfast bagel sandwiches for cheap! Less than $4 gets you an egg and bacon bagel sandwich of very high quality. Unquestionably the best deal they have there. I don’t know why they don’t advertise their breakfast sandwiches more, because they should. There is nowhere to sit inside of Crave since it’s a small shop, but there is plenty of outdoor seating in the Mercado. Beware that it can be hot out there in the summer, but most people brown-bag it back to the office anyway. The only other nearby sandwich shop that I know of is the Subway over by the Hooters, but I had several bad experiences there and won’t go back. Subway is borderline fast-food to me.Over all, this place is top-notch and I would highly recommend it. Be sure to try different things on their menu.
I love coming to Crave!! The sandwiches are soo good!! They are always fresh and made to order. I jus wish the we’re open on the weekends. This is my favorite lunch spot.
