I went here with two other friends and overall our experience was pretty good. I do think the food is a bit pricey and the place is a bit packed. I really like their innovative idea of using red rice but I still prefer authentic sushi with white rice. The overall taste was pretty good and I think it worth a try.
Fun little spot but when it’s busy, the rails come off. Little organization, poor service, pandemonium!! But when things are slower, service picks up and your noticed. Sushi is fun with the unique purple rice. Harming roll is ok…seems a little watery and the taste is average. Crunchy Mango, on the other hand, was delicious! Dipped in a side of eel sauce and your on your way to yum town.
Located on1st Ave just north of Adams in downtown. Order from the counter, and you are given a number in which they call and deliver to your table. The sushi is fresh, and very good. On this day it was busy for lunch something I did not care for was we had to ask for plates, napkins, and chop sticks. Tables were not cleared for the busy lunch crowd, we had to ask for a clean table. The sushi was extremely good, the special was Blue Fin along with toro, both outstanding, fresh tasting and not fishy. The spicyness of the H3 was a nice touch but not overwhelming to the taste of the fish. Really enjoyed the purple rice within the rolls. Your beverage choices are fountain or saki, beer, and wine. Will definetly return, again our only negative was having to ask for items that should be kept up with in maintaining good service.
My wife and I were visiting Phoenix and decided to scope out what was available for sushi in the area. We chose Harumi based on the glowing reviews on Google. We were dressed up for a night out and when we arrived at Harumi realized we had unwittingly picked a casual restaurant for our evening. Not to be deterred, we dined anyway. We were extremely happy with the service and variety of sushi on the menu. We were also equally happy with the quality and flavor of the rolls we picked. In the end, we have been to Harumi almost every time we have been to Phoenix and highly recommend for anyone looking for a casual sushi spot with prices that won’t break the bank.
