Took my twin girls there for a date night with dad. We loved the atmosphere. The food was delicious!!!! They had live entertainment on that night, he was awesome. We especially liked the friendly staff and wanted to give a shout out to one of the big wigs Laurie Earley and the manager Ryan. They made our night with their hospitality. Laurie especially made my kids night by buying their drinks, non alcoholic of course. They just made us feel like family and we will definitely go back. Everyone should check it out.
Wow, the reviews are pretty bad here. My husband and I had a good time here but perhaps the heat (or the beer) got to our heads. We were in town for a quick weekend trip to see a comedy (Adam Carolla) show. Neither of us had ever been to Phoenix and were there for such a short time we could have really been anywhere. It was July. The heat was oppressive, unlike anything this SC girl has experienced. We wandered around the concrete city in the sweltering heat looking for ANY place that was open for lunch and drinks. We walked by Majerle’s and frankly thought, there’s AC and drinks inside…who cares what else. We were the first customers of the day and sat at the bar. The servers were friendly enough, nothing fabulous. Since it wasn’t busy we had fast service. We ordered a few appetizers but mainly drinks. The food was mediocre and we left eventually to find better food. In a sports bar I expected to have sports on the TV. It was brunch time and July so not a lot of sports to choose from but SportCenter would be much better than dated music videos. That was weird. I doubt we will return but they were open and cool inside and at the time, that was more important that food. If this review was based ONLY on food, it would be much lower but since we were on vacation and had a blast overall my memories of Phoenix gives this a higher score.
Sorry Dan – you lost 7 at once!. After going to the Suns game on Friday night Jan. 4th, we all wanted to get something to eat and drink. We walked into Marjerle’s and looked around for a table. We spotted 2 booths. The clean booth had a reserved sign on it. We waited for someone to clean our booth, which they did after we asked them to. A waitress finally came to get our drink order, but we told her our friend got tired of waiting, so he went to the bar to get our drinks. No apology for the wait, she just quickly left. Our friend came back from the bar and said that he couldn’t get served at the bar because we had a table. Why didn’t the waitress tell us! She could have offered to get us drinks, but no! So we wait some more. The waitress (I think it was the same one) comes back & says that there are 7 of us – great she can count. She left again – no orders taken. She came back & asked if we want to move to a bigger table. We said no we were fine where we were and that we’d really like some drinks and menus. She said she had to check with the hostess because there were 7 of us – and she left again! When she came back again she said that we HAD to go to a table in the back because there were 7 of us. NOTE: Right next to our booth was a guy sitting by himself at a table for 4 so he wasn’t bringing in the amount of money we would. We got up and then promptly walked pasted the bar & out the door! It made absolutely no common sense. If I sat with the guy at his table would we have gotten service!??! What does it matter that we were comfortable where we where sitting? So, we spent our money down the street that night and the other restaurant staff couldn’t believe what hassle it is to get a drink at Marjerle’s. The 7 of us will never go back there again – plus none of our family, friends or co-workers will either. So Marjerle’s your staff would rather mess around for half an hour than serve customers! I will, however, still enjoy a picture of me with Dan the year the Suns almost won the championship.
Not interested in us. Our service was bad. The food was okay.
Bartenders suck!!!. My boyfriend and I went here for the first time and I was not impressed..We ordered and drinks and never received our waters (that was the first thing I asked for)..We had to flag another server down that was just coming on due to the remainder servers standing around and talking to each other, while another group of them were sitting right in front of us and one was sitting on the beer cooler..After our beers sat empty for a good 10 minutes another new bartender asked if we wanted another..We asked for our tab at that time because we didn’t want to have to wait for 30 minutes to get them to come back..Well we put our card out and another 15 minutes went by before they got to us..HORRIBLE!!! I am a bartender myself but I think its ridiculous..I always try to give them the benefit of the doubt because sometimes you get busy..But when you ignore your customers its just plain rude!!! I will not be back!!
Cullen’s review of Majerle’s. I really like Majerle’s. Unline the posts below mine, I’ve never had a problem with service. I’m always greeted very nicely, and the bartenders even know my and my friends’ names. The ASU student discount is great. We receive 20% off our bill, even if it’s alcohol. The food is what you’d expect from a sports bar, but that’s not really why you go there anyway. The bartenders are really hot, the beer is cold, and there are TV’s everywhere. If you’re trying to watch a big game, definitely get there early to save yourself a seat. It’s that popular with the locals.
