A bit on the pricey side, though the food was pretty good, taking me back to being back in Virginia, it was worth going. The chicken fried steak with gravy was pretty flavorful (I recommend hot saucing it too) but the real surprise was the cabbage. It was deceptively good.

The fried chicken is simply incredible, possibly outdone only by the smothered pork chops which were among the most delicious thing I’ve ever eaten! The chicken fried steak was also good but nowhere near the rest. Sides are fresh and just about everything is a good choice but the sweet potatoes were addictively awesome.Servers were very attentive and friendly. I did get a weird feeling when paying after getting absolutely no response to signing the credit card slip and leaving a 20% tip. The gentleman who seemed initially full of smiles very obviously examined the tip line then set down the slip and gave us no further acknowledgement as we turned away and left. It just felt weird and was an unfortunate closing experience.

Gotta love Ms. Whites haven’t been in a while but it’s definitely food that’ll keep you coming back! I’ve been going here since I was a kid. They’re pretty much family. Best Soul food in Arizona! Mmmm and I can really go for some tomato cobbler!!
