The food was OK at best. You have to know what to get for it to be worth it and the service is awful.

2-3 Generation. I have been eating here for years and I have began to bring my daughter but there is a young woman at the front desk who was playing on her phone. when I asked if she would seat us she gave me a dirty look. than gave us attitude, I have never been treated this way before when coming but if I was in management I would fire that young lady or teach her manners.14 Jan, 2010Know what to get first. I’ve eatin here for years. one thing you must know before you eat here is what to get. the potstickers suck but the won ton soup is good. the Fried rice is great and the happy family is good. i hear the egg fu yong. its not on the menu but if you order the four dollars chicken, it goes well with the fried rice. it chicken with calm chowder sauce. it does not taste like fish. i hate fish but like this dish.

First time. I had lunch here for the first time today, a Sunday. Friendly reception. Ordered vegetable chow mein and was entirely pleased with it. When it arrived, I was pleased to see a pile of fresh bean-spouts, bok-choy (including the coveted by me green parts), celery, onions and red bell pepper in a very light sauce atop a slight bed of crunchy noodles. Hit the spot. I usually go with something a little spicier so was happy to find a sprinkle jar of crushed red pepper on my table. I am pleased that this place is still around after 85 years in business.

Great, Affordable Food…with Average Service. Sing High’s was above average when compared to a typical experience at a fast food joint, such as Panda Express. I’m not a Chinese food expert, mainly because I’ve never visited China, but I could compare it to food I am familiar with, fast food. I evaluated this restaurant on its service, food, and atmosphere. Sing High’s disappointed me with their service because the waitress, who seemed to be as old as the eighty-year-old restaurant, accommodated my family with constant refills; however, when my cup finally became empty, she never came back. Granted it was somewhat busy, since it was 5:00 PM on a Sunday, but it seemed she did not tend any other table. She has waited on my family in the past, which means I should have the luxury of my one complementary refill without having my father go near the kitchen to ask her. However, my experience with their food was phenomenal. I enjoyed my Cantonese Style Chicken Lo Mein, which had a thick, rich gravy mixed in it with medium-sized pieces of chicken. For only $7.50, this was by far the most delicious and filing Chinese dish I’ve ever had, with a portion that towered over the whole plate! Their Lo Mein is tastier than the Chow Mein at Panda Express, and is more satisfying than having any two-entre plate from Panda. The atmosphere is alright. Even though it doesn’t have the crowded feel at a Panda express, it still had an average restaurant feel. I expected more of a Chinese appearance, but the atmosphere, in this case, was not as important as the food. The food was the best feature, and completely dominated the service and atmosphere in my criteria. If you’re in the Central Phoenix area and craving tasty Chinese food, I recommend Sing High’s.

Fun & Historic. Love this place for it’s history and good food. You can’t go wrong with their potstickers, wontons, huge egg rolls and of course chop suey.

Don’t waste your time or money!. I’d heard extreme views by others that Sing High was either really great or awful. I definitely side more with Awful! We waited a long time to even get our order taken (so long that another guest near us seated after us was finished before our food even came out). The food was not good. The eggroll, my staple for Chinese food, was AWFUL. It was like they put Chop Suey in an eggroll, battered it , then fried it. Yuck. I order Hot Pineapple Pork… it had no heat and the sauce was cloyingly sweet with a weird aftertase. I think it was yellow mustard? Weird! Anyway, it may have a great history, but don’t waste your time now!
