We read a lot of negative reviews and were hesitant to try it but it’s close to home so we went for it. We cannot say anything negative. Service was great. Food was exceptional. The waiter even gave my granddaughter his Mardi Gras necklace. One of the items we ordered was the seafood platter and the waiter let us know it would take 20 minutes to get it right. No problem waiting for GREAT food. And try the craft beers. Awesome!!
They’re good and are getting better. A few issues when they first opened but are getting the hang of things and improving. I hope they are able to keep it going. They’re a little out of the way but worth the trip.
Finally my husband and I had a free night for a date and opted to try this new place! We loved it as Boathouse and were really hoping to like this cajun restaurant that took its place! We orders hurricane drinks and an appetizer. Drinks were brought after about 5 minutes ( a long time for a place with about 7 tables full). We orders our dinner and were happy to see a family we knew so we sat down near them to say hello. They identified the food was not great and it took forever for their plates to come… Should have been a sign! We had waited 50 minutes and still no appetizer! At this point I now had to leave to pick up the kids from the movies! No apology from the staff, husband stayed behind and asked them to pack up our food in to go containers and asked for the check! Our friends had bought our meal (unbelievably kind of him but unfortunate since we never should have paid full price for this!) While my husband waited for my return to pick him and our food up, he ordered a beer at the bar… They had the nerve to charge him for it after all of that!! As a server for more than 10 years of my life I definitely understand what good service looks like and I also know some of it is out of the server’s control. The server was rude and unapologetic, the manager was just as rude and unapologetic and the food was grossly overpriced and underwhelming! We won’t brother waists get our time or money here again
We heard the food was amazing. We weren’t that lucky! As soon as we walked in a server told us the kitchen is backed up and will take at least 20 minutes. Ok you have a bar. We waited 20-25 minutes, their were only 6 tables max occupied and still no service AT ALL. No one even came to our table. We would of stairs but we were thirsty. Maybe we will go try another day?
We had dinner last nice. Service was prompt, the crawfish touffe was delicious. The server was happy to give us extra bread upon request. It’s a little pricey, but overall a good experience.
Absolutely worst service I’ve ever experienced. First, their listing on Google maps is wrong, so took us a minute to find the place. Then, the server forgot to greet us after 10+ minutes. Still gave them the benefit of the doubt as they are a smaller establishment, even though there were several open tables. Took 10+ minutes to get a drink. Manager came over with some bread (the server never mentioned bread). Manager didn’t even notice we were lacking silverware, napkins and plates. We had asked for an appetizer of fried alligator when we ordered our drinks. After 45 minutes of waiting for app we flagged down the server. We asked for the fried alligator and she stated it was probably gonna come out with our meals. Really?! You don’t even want to go check to see what you can do??? When we stated that’s not what we wanted she promptly and defensively stated she would go get her manager. We actually would of waited longer for our meals if we could get the app out first. So disappointed. Who’s the person hiring this wait staff?
Good cajun food, high price point. Really good food, and probably the best Sazerac I have ever had. The restaurant is small, and the night we were there they had live jazz music. The shrimp etouffee was really good, although a smallish portion size. The highlight of the meal was definitely the bread pudding, a rich moist pudding with a whiskey sauce. The only miss of the restaurant was the high price point of most appetizers.
