At first glance the restaurant did not look like an authentic asian restaurant, that was true for both the inside and the outside. But as I looked closer, mainly on the inside, I saw on the walls, jade granite, which to my knowledge is used in asian restaurants and such. Also i noticed in one part of the restaurant, a high ceiling, round and made of wood, and it just had that asian look to it.Let me just say that I have never liked seafood (or at least I didn’t before coming here.) Ever since I was a child i haven’t liked seafood, no fish sticks, no salmon, etc… That on top of the fact that every time I’ve tried sushi anywhere else it has tasted cheap and not appealing to my tongue. Otaku is a different story, In that for once I tried sushi, and I absolutely loved it. Not to mention the appetizers were also very tasty and came pretty quickly as well.Luckily it is my parents who like this place because it was a bit pricey if I remember correctly, maybe for an adult it is not as bad, but for my family of four, with drinks, appetizers, and main meals, I remember it got up to around $90 which is a lot for a teenager… Anyway, if you want that authentic taste I’m sure it’s with it for you!

Closed on Mondays, very weak sauce! There should be a big bold notice that they are closed on Mondays! I mean really it’s not like a place like this is so busy on the weekends to warrant closure on a weekday!?!

Great sushi and ambiance! My friends and I got multiple and split them and it was so much fun. Definitely coming back here.

I LOVE Otaku!!! Their #King Salmon Sashimi is like butter… Best I’ve ever had. I also love their #Tom Yum Soup withs lots of yummy mushrooms and shrimp or chicken. It’s a little spendy but the quality and flavor of the food is well worth it!

Great. Today I went to the sushi restaurant of Otaku. The decorations are very elegant and quite enjoyable. I was amazed by how realistic the feel of this restaurant had. Everywhere you look there is Asian artwork. I truly felt connected with the appearance of this place. At this restaurant you can get sushi, rice, meat, and many other Asian cultured foods. The food is very delicious and looks appealing as well. I ordered the Phoenix roll and the caterpillar roll. These were both outstanding and very mouthwatering. I was pleasantly surprised with how clean this restaurant was as well. There was not a crumb anywhere that I could see or a menu out of place. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Otaku. Although the food is very delicious I did feeling slightly queasy after eating at Otaku. I normally do not get sick after eating Asian food so I do believe that it was from this restaurant. Another negative experience I had was the service of the employees is slightly lacking. There was a lot of waiting around when I was the only customer in the restaurant. Overall I really enjoyed Otaku and would recommend it to anyone. If you are looking for a family friendly restaurant with tasty Asian food Otaku is the place for you.

Excellent Food vs Poor Service. We have frequented Chandler Otaku over six times with 4 to 6 guests. The menu is great and the food above being excellent! As a trade off, there is a major disconnect as to the wait staff. On each of our 6 visits, we had our appetizers come out as normal, except they didn’t bring any cups or ladders. By the way the Hot & Sour soup is the best we’ve ever eaten. Next, when our entrees arrived, one person was left waiting for more than ten minutes before their food arrived. This made for an awkward situation. Do we wait for the other plate or let our food go cold?Every time the young Manager apologized and said h would try to make it better for the next time. After this 6th visit, nothing has changed. It appears the young waitresses just can’t understand that if they serve soup, it would be nice if you had bowls and laddels first. The Manager should train his staff that when they bring out the main entree, it’s all the entrees for everyone, not just for a few and leave the others waiting. If it wasn’t for the service issue I would strongly recommend this resturant each and every time!

Absolutely delicious!!! Best Japanese food in Arizona. I highly recommend the food, the ambiance and the service. Our waiter, Ryan, went above and beyond. Great place.
