I grew up in the Valley eating at Pete’s Fish n Chips. This place has many similarities to Pete’s. They even have their own little secret sauce for your fries like they do. But after eating here, it isn’t quite the same. The menu consists of basically over-battered fried food – fish, shrimp, chicken tenders and burgers. The food wasn’t bad but the service was. The lady at the window botched my order and blamed me when I returned it to her. I had to laugh because she was watching TV as she was taking orders and I observed most of the staff on their phones while cooking. Oh well. I live in Chandler and was hoping for a version of Pete’s close by to occasionally eat at, but it looks like I’ll have to drive out to the real one in Phoenix when I have a craving. btw.. they have a drive thru and are cash only. foodartandculture.com

Ok cheap eats, frozen seafood. I have lived here in chandler for 6yrs and have always meant to try Pirates.I finally stopped today to check it out. It’s very inexpensive with no frills. Kinda divey, run down which for the valley I can actually appreciate. Something different and not so cookie cutter. I have been to the UK and had the awesome dish there- this isn’t it.I orders fish and chips. Not too awful greasy. The fish were previously frozen square patties. The crumb breading was very salty. The fries should have been cooked a bit more.Pirates sauce (a sort of runny ketchup of sorts) was given but NO tartar sauce. All in all a cheap eats place. Not ideal for me as nothing is fresh (I do realize we are not a coastal city :)). Try it out and see for yourself.
The best shrimp ever been goin here for 23 years
