Best Carnitas Ever!. I have had Carnitas elsewhere, and usually get served leftover shredded pulled pork that is deep-fried all stringy and dry. At Casa Grande you get big chunks of pork tenderloin, fried crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I just wish they had a sauce or glaze accompaniment. I agree with other reviews that the portions here are smaller than elsewhere, but American servings are unhealthily oversized. However, their prices are a little steep for the little amount you get ($10.95 for Carnitas with refried beans, rice, chunky guacamole, and pico de gallo salsa). Never-ending chips and picante salsa compensates for it in my book. They serve the fresh made chips with 2 salsas: mild & hot. The service was friendly, professional with matching uniforms, and promptly refilled our beverages and kept the complimentary chips & salsa coming.
General. We have eaten there several times and the food has always been good. The last time, although the food was bland and disappointing, the portions were small. The tablespoon of beans was spread over their place on the plate to make it look like a large portion. The waitstaff was too busy talking with each other to be attentive to what you needed. We had to ask them for silverware, napkins, and additional salsa after our food was brought to the table. Won’t go back for a while….maybe it will change in the meantime.

Decent Chimi. I had a shredded beef version with no beans inside. The tortilla wasn’t soggy and still had some deep-fried crunch to it and the shredded beef wasn’t dry. These are common failures of chimichangas around here so this one passes the tests. It comes without sides for $8.95.
